Doyle
Right click on My Computer, click manage, and then go to Device Manager. First things first, make sure nothing has an exclamation mark next to it. If anything does, that means theres a problem with it. Let me know what you see
Jamie_the_Jambo
I had something similar some time ago. It happens when you do not unplug the usb propery. Dont just take it out - you have to properly disconnect it first. Re-connect the the ipod. Then throughn the icon at the bottom of your screen disconnect the usb port. should work. jamie

CompleteIdiot
Do the ports work with other USB devices?
Mister Dee
I had a similar problem. Apparently there are 2 types of USB port for high speed transfers & normal speed. Make sure you try each port on your computer. I found that (predictably) the most inaccessible port was the one that worked.
