GBJambo Posted September 28 Posted September 28 (edited) Rory so emotional there . No wonder . The abuse he has had over the weekend has been disgusting. He has been brilliant and no wonder he was spent today along with the other big guns Edited September 28 by GBJambo

Malinga the Swinga Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Not sure there are many Americans left at course apart from their players and families
neilnunb Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Thought Lowry was going in for some crowd surfing there 🤣
Victorian Posted September 28 Author Posted September 28 Not too impressed by the agreement/rule to effectively void a match because of an injured player. It could have ended up leaving a doubt about the result had the match been played. Yes, a defaulted point to the other team also leaves a doubt but for me it's the more satisfactory of the two. Incredible set of matches. Most matches going the full 18 for 32 years. And that's from 11 not 12. A team winning after only a solitary singles win must also be record I would have thought.
Jacques de Gauthier Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Were they singing Are you watching Donald Trump? The players seemed to get a big kick out of that.
Kalamazoo Jambo Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Speaking as a joint US / UK citizen… ya dancer!
Samuel Camazzola Posted September 28 Posted September 28 I wonder how many US players will WD from the Dunhill.
HMFC01 Posted September 28 Posted September 28 Someone needs to tell Don Rea Europe won the Ryder Cup. 😂 President of PGA America.

East Coast golf in Scotland in October is a wonderful experience. Bethpage Black, unfortunately got ruined by the usa Ryder Cup committee. Beth had her nickers at her cackles to accommodate the limp dick shermans. 2025 Ryder Cup was a putting competition...and Europe won...

Rule been there since 1971 and used twice. Obviously Bradley bitching about wanting it changed but US benefitted in 1991, the famous Kiowah Island match, when Steve Pate withdrew despite being injured before the event and only pulling out for singles. They won 14.5 to 13.5 and weren't moaning then. The two occasions Europe used have not, mathematically, had bearing on who wins cup. Almost every sport has a substitute rule so you could have a nominated vice captain/captain rule to swap for injury but could you trust teams to not take injury if someone off form and replace them. I don't think you could do leave it alone, suck it up US and play better golf on first 2 days.

Well you have to respect the American who gave McIntyre a missable gimme on the 17th so he got to play up the 18th - and won the hole, getting a half point. Thought that was a really decent thing to do after all the fan jeering.
lost in space Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Luke Donald should just have declared 8 players injured yesterday morning before the matches - and it could have saved us all of the trauma and stress!!

Shooter McGavin Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Yanks seething about a rule that has existed for decades, is agreed to by both captains prior to play and has benefited them in the past.
Victorian Posted September 29 Author Posted September 29 It's even more incredible that Europe would still have won outright if Aberg's match had ended a half, leaving Europe with no singles wins at all. Crazy.
Malinga the Swinga Posted September 29 Posted September 29 US failed dismally to adapt to the team golf part of Ryder Cup but excelled in the individual part. Being as it's 16 points up for grabs in the team games and 12 in individual, maybe US needs to revisit their planning. Maybe they want to consider having some rough that penalises poor shots instead of reducing it to a chip and putt contest but that's there issue to solve. Europe won't be as daft in Ireland in 2027.
Mikey1874 Posted September 30 Posted September 30 One thing I found interesting was Paul McGinley from the Europe team appearing on the Golf Channel every night after play. He didn't hold back on setting out European team superiority. That must have been quite annoying to the Americans and will maybe be part of their debrief if they can be bothered to have one.

I enjoyed the fact he wasn’t on Sky this weekend. If he’s gone for good that’s great, just need “ohhhhh that’s not bad” Dame Laura next.
lost in space Posted September 30 Posted September 30 Glad McGinley wasn't involved but I like Dame Laura and Nick Faldo. Never liked listening

OBE Posted October 3 Posted October 3 (edited) Bob McIntyre, sizzling 66 round sodden, wind lashed Kingsbarns, amazing golf...👏👏👏👏 Edited October 3 by OBE
stevie Posted October 3 Posted October 3 Watching the golf live just now 😂,at what time is it deemed unplayable as it’s wild at all 3 courses.

Victorian Posted October 3 Author Posted October 3 That's just stupid ability to score that in those conditions on what is not a tame course.
OBE Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Bob, gotta be a major contender again in 2026, his length, short game and aggressive pin seeking should all factor...hopefully.
Samuel Camazzola Posted October 4 Posted October 4 Andy Murray has received the amount of live coverage that leading pros get. Just a pity his scuff from a bunker was captured for all to see yesterday. 😄
Ray Gin Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Superb week for Bob. I suspect his liver still hasn't recovered from last weekend's celebrations. Straight back on it.

OBE Posted October 9 Posted October 9 That Club de Campo villa de Madrid is a properly designed old fashioned track. Gotta play the ball both ways, penal fairway bunkers and punishing rough...love it...♥️

hmfc_liam06 Posted October 10 Posted October 10 How’s folks seasons gone this year then? Been a pretty successful one for me. 12.9 to 8.6. Won my first ever tournament, our B Championship and then a second come along not long at the back. Finished 2nd at Craigmillar Park open and played a few new courses including Turnberry 👌
Tommy Brown Posted October 11 Posted October 11 Started the season 13.5. Now 14.5 Savaged it a bit in our last competition of the season with an 8.5. Been scoring horrendously at times. Lost a couple of months to poor though. Lame excuse for shit golf. Magdalene-Fields tomorrow for an Open.
Samuel Camazzola Posted October 11 Posted October 11 Nice bit of basic advice for the choppers looking to knock shots off the handicap.

Decent track that, played it once when staying at the caravan park. Its a funny game, no doubt you’re back in the winners circle next year.

Statts1976uk Posted October 16 Posted October 16 Has anyone tried the Vice balls, I'm fancying a change from my usual Mizuno RB556. I thought I could have a look around during the off season. *Obviously it's the balls fault, not my questionable swing or lapses in game management!

I've used them for a few years and they are decent. I've had batches of the 'Pro' and 'Pro Plus' and find them comparible to a ProV or Srixon Z Star. Like a ProV, they don't retain their whiteness like a Z Star does but it's definitely a premium level ball. Occasionally, Vice does a promo where you get six dozen boxes for the price of five. I've gone halves with a mate to get the three dozen at a steal.
