When he missed that putt on the 18th in his final round, I remember thinking that he'd Hibsed it, and then, oh, wait a minute!!!

 

But he did what he had been doing that final round, he bounced back like the champion he is.

The tree shot on the 7th (I think commentator said the gap he was going for was the size of a football) and the "hook" on the 15th are 2 of the best shots I have ever seen. 

I didnt mind who won in the end - 2 great players - and both British.

I was so happy that Patrick Reed didnt sneak through to win.

How he pulled those shots off on the 7th and 15th, and yet hit those wedge shots on the 13th and 18th, is just incredible

 

So glad to see him finally do it though, a really deserving champion who's just cemented his legacy as one of the all-time greats!

Quite incredible how he's managed to hit some of the greatest shots of all time and some of his worst ever in the same round.

The approach on 17 was something else too. It was the furthest back he had been all week but was still able to land it in the prime spot.

 

Will be interesting to see how much he free-wheels it now and how much he reigns it in when needed.

Think I'll go on the comments from people like Jack Nicklaus, Luke Donald, Justin Rose, Tiger Woods and indeed the great Gary Player than some butt hurt guy on a message board! What a week you've had after your Leinster Glasgow prediction and Rory winning the golf! Hilarious stuff.

Well last night was incredible. Cant put into words what that felt like. I was so stressed watching it never mind playing it. Well done Rory.

I don't think it's just next month? It starts next month and is part of their regular 48-hour ballot. A small (I think 11 on the first day) number of tee times will be available at the reduced time.

Most ballots in other months have a theme, like armed forces, NHS, disabled golfers etc. It's just the 21st May on the Old Course and 2nd June on the Eden course that's open for Scottish golfers at the moment, though September's ballots have still to be decided.

Ah I see. Not really worthy of the fanfair it has received in the media then. 179 tee times across 6 months with some restricted criteria beyond just being a Scottish resident.
