Don't mind the stuff I've heard from Duffy, but it is effectively an homage to 50s/60s soul, whereas Winehouse created something that (while showing its influences) is quintessentially 21st Century. Amy Winehouse, for all her faults, is lyrically and musically fresh, while Duffy is just a nice voice wrapped in a cliche. That's my opinion, anyway.
