ODT file? :S

was using someone elses laptop the other day with the latest windows and MS word, saved the word document onto my usb stick but now on my laptop its appearing as an ODT file? (.odt)

 

WTF? is there anyway i can recover my work? without having to open it back up on the other computer?

open XMLtranslator will convert it to word.

where can i download these programs you speak of?

 

 

In word, change your open file type to xml, should translate it for you.

started downloading open office so hopefully that will do the trick

Open Word,

 

On the file menu select open.

 

At the bottom of the window you can select the file type .doc is the default. click the dropdown arrow and select xml. Then click on the file and it converts it for you.

still not having any luck with that method mate, downloaded open office though and that worked.

Re-write it with pen & paper :)

i wrote it in permanent marker on my computer screen, thinking i could save it to a word document after that.

 

now i cant was the bloody marker off!
