Ivan Drago
what does everyone think? has to be a purely animated film , so im afraid you cant go for Roger Rabbit or anything like that. you can go for CGI such as Shrek, Toy story etc though or stop motion such as chicken run, wallace and gromit. Personally i would have to go for Akira, an absolute masterpiece imo, one of my favourite films never mind just animated. Toy Story comes a close second though. sked21
the only one i can really remember was when they went back to feudal Japan!!! classic! I think that was the third one. I had the first one on video and it was a classic. But the one that always sticks in my mind is the second one when they discover this chemical that has turned these animals into mutants. Bloody hilarious thinking back about it. I think I might look to buy the three of them.....
Say What Again
When I was younger I liked Disney's Robin Hood and LOVED: Animalympcs Any of you JKBers with wee ones, I'd seriously recommend this for them. I used to watch it over and over again. Mind you, kids these days have X-Station 3 and MP3pod things. I had to make do with a stick with a bit dog poo on the end, but I was happy. jamboinglasgow
hmmm my shortlist would be: Toy Story (blew me away at the age of 9) Alladin (disney is always good for a good animated story) Robin Hood (was my fav disney one when I was young, now the one above) Shrek (is good though there is too much CG movies now.) Akira (only Anime I have ever properly watched and is good) so the winner is Toy Story, for what it was, it was different, had a great cast and had much care put into it. Though there is too much CG now, wish Disney would get back to old style animation and classic stories rather then CG stories that are all the same with characters who writers think are hip. p.s. really want to put Who framed Roger Rabbit but due to the rules I cant, loved the risque nature of it. topcat
Cat Concerto http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROByGhy6jwk There has to be a Tom & Jerry cartoon on the list and this one, where Jerry is inside the Piano that Tom, is my choice Red Hot Riding Hood http://URL="http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8039477657790445932" This would be subversive now never mind 65 years ago Jungle Book http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur3uk0OiyuA Disney used to employ the likes of Lois Prima and Louis Armstrong. Now they hire Phil Collins Duck Dodgers in the 24?th Century http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTDQHSI2c10 Chuck Jones needs to be on here and this one was notable for Luxo The Lamp http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Kr-SJXE2hc Arguably the very first CGI film Toy Story http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPMvfaF2tao We're all used to CGI now but this was amazing back then South Park: Bigger Longer and Uncut http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_NWCpzks70 Other movies pushed the technical limits of what was possible. This one pushed all the others. Beowulf http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mD4cthQTOBU Youtube doesn't do it justice, it needs to be seen in 3d on a big screen. Bordeaux 03
Fred Quimby was a genius at producing Tom & Jerry, when William Hanna and Joseph Barbera took over it just wasn't the same. I still watch Tom & Jerry to this day if it's on. One of my favourite's was when they have the massive firework fight inside the house and Jerry's flying about in an egg box dive bombing Tom with eggs! What memories.
