I really cant get my head around why these are so popular?

Its real life people doing real life stuff.

If I wanted to watch a show like big brother, I'd turn off channel 4 and head off down my local pub, far more characters and better laughs than appear on these shows.

If I wanted to watch Dancing on Ice, or whatever the ***** its called, I'd head over to Murrayfield ice rink and watch people make an arse of themselves.

If I wanted to watch X Factor, I'd just go to Robbo's after the match and watch i8hbs sing better than half they erkie's on that show.

I must be getting older, as the quality of T.V show has diminished beyond recognition in this country, and its sadly getting slightly embarrassing.

I watch a programme with the wife now, and when its ended, I couldn't tell you what happened, who did what, which shows the level of brain needed to watch these shows.

Sorry folks, we're getting far too Americanised, and its time for some good old Telly to be back hitting our screens.

So folks, tune into UK Gold and enjoy what was once a great nation for turning out T.V shows.

My rant is over, I encourage you not to watch these shows, lets get them off our screens.

That is exactly the sort of TV this thick as **** (in general), zombie worker nation needs. If people go about thinking too much they will start to question the world around them.

The ideal British citizen works 35-40 hours a week, watches brain rot TV at least 10 hours a week and plenty brain rot movies, buys too much food (more than they can eat) buys too much drink, buys too many electrical goods they don't need, buys more clothes than they will ever wear, feels miserable, gets fat, goes on a diet, buys the paper, reads a brain rot magazine, watches more brain rot TV, prays for the weekend, when the weekend arrives they spend money on more stuff they don't need then get pished because it's what folks do innit, then feel sick the next day and watch more brain rot TV and eat and drink and fart all the while losing sight of what life is about and eventually their brain is so rotten and tired they lose the will to try and change.

Everything you have said is absolutely accurate until the bit in bold. What is life all about exactly? You make no effort to explain, yet you explain in detail everything that is wrong with people in general. I do agree, but what is the solution?

The answer is finding what you need, not what you want or think you need. You are far more likely to find that in the people and the world around you than on the TV, in the fridge, in the shops or in your wage packet.

American.

I've never seen the attraction of them either. Bore the pants off me.

I'd rather chuck on Paramount, UKG, Dave, BBC3 etc etc and actually watch something other than someone living. Perverts.

Turn off the T.V, take your kids out, go visit relatives.

We're a nation of T.V lovers now, and it saddens me.

We've almost turned American its unreal. Scotland's a beautiful country, away out and enjoy it.

There's a million and one things for doing with your loved one's these days, take advantage of them. I've decided that for the next 11 months, I will be taking the family away for a weekend up in the highlands once a month, until we've seen some of the more northern parts.

I'd rather slide down a razorblade using my knob as a break than watch this garbage.

Andy, mate, you're preaching to the converted, I am an avid reader. I very rarely watch the Box. I occasionally watch the odd documentary but it has to be something inspiring.

I unfortunately work in the TV industry, and I would say that it is quite a damming indictment of the industry in general that I wouldn't even watch the content that I help create.

Don't get me wrong, I realise that is also a damming indictment of me, or at least my job. But not everyone enjoys their work.

As an aside, I have the family round all the time..... I must be mad:nuts:

No he's not aiming that at the perverts who like Kinky Porn, so stop getting so offended.

Reality shows are the reason I spend so much time on KB, so if anyone is ****ed off with my posts, blame them.

If they are going to make reality tv shows, at least make them exciting.

Big Brother - instead of having phone votes to decide who leaves, have fights to the death! The winner is the last person alive
