cosanostra
Anyone else absolutely love this film?? One of those films that i can watch repeatedly and and still love. It is a lesser known Robert de Niro film from the late 1980's and it's one of my favourite films from childhood through to adulthood. De Niro is a New York bounty hunter and he has to serve a bail bond on Charles Grodin (the family father from the Beethoven films) who is wanted dead by the Mafia. This is the about the best of the 80s buddy movies and De Niro and Grodin are both superb. It's funny, action packed, great acting and brilliant 80s cheesy funk soundtrack. It's also got Ralph Ciffaretto from the Sopranos. Along with 48 hours, the best of this sort of film. I also got the dvd from amazon marketplace for ?4 - best ?4 i ever spent. Jambojohnnyboy
Yes, a big fan, it's like Planes, Trains and Automobiles for those with tourettes! "Don't say a word to me, Sidney, don't say a ****ing word to me. I'll get up and I'll bury this telephone in your head."
cosanostra
It is the buddy movie on crack and buckfast. How good is Charles Grodin? Put out the cigarette Jack.......
Jambojohnnyboy
I can't actually imagine anyone else but Grodin playing Jonathan, he plays the part perfectly, I like the way he seems almost depressed when anyone else in the predicament would I'd imagine be off the scale hyper, life at risk and all that trying to get across the states. Let's pray they never try and remake it. "You're OK, Jack. I think... under different circumstances you and I probably still would have hated each other!" cosanostra
Kind of stoopid but a film from childhood that will always remain a favourite. How do you guys rate 48 hours? Nolte and Eddie Murphy when he was funny are both superb.

Jambojohnnyboy
48 hrs is amongst my favourites too. Certain films though should reamin a pleasant childhood memory as I found after re watching Bronx Warriors about 25 years after seeing it as a kid. Cant remember that one, will have to look it out. I also quite liked 'See no evil, hear no evil'. For all the abuse Pryor and Wilder got for being **** I thought they were very funny !! "I'm black !! You never told me I was black " Great scene. Pryor is brilliant.
