roscomcpie
But a cheap card out the local garage and pretend that you "haven't forgotten". I may have done this last year
neave
The burd and I have an agreement to never do anything 'for' Valentine's Day as it's a complete sham of a day. Try to get your girlfriend to come round to that way of thinking; it's a hell of a lot cheaper.

Then on the day she pulls out a card and "Oh I thought I would anyway". I stuck to our arrangement and I was the one that felt bad

blondejamtart
Total commercialised nonsense - why should you need a special day to show your love for someone? Oh, and my other half and I never give each other presents - for Valentine's Day, Xmas or birthdays....

Everyone loves surprises but birds absolutely love them. So my plan for Acey: Do something nice for her this week. She will be well chuffed. Tell her you don't do the Valentines day nonsense and you will let her know how much you like her when you want to, not when some scam of a 'day' decides it. She will think that is amazing and very romantic. Idea for a present ? Some very expensive shoes, in the right size. She will love it. 100% guaranteed. FrazJambo
I can't quite believe the amount of couples that 'agree' not to do anything for valentines day. What a bunch of miserable gits, typicall of this depressing country. Sure, its over commercialised and occasionally cheesy - but is it not nice to treat each other one day out of the year? If you eat out lots and spend lots of time together, then fair enough, but most of the couples i know sit about their flats doing nothing most nights. It doesn't have to be expensive. I just can't figure out why two people who are supposed to love each other would find excuses not to treat each other. Like i said, i understand if you're very socially active and do loads together, but isn't it a nice excuse to spoil each other? I put it down to lazyness. Mabye i'm just an old romantic? Being told what day to do something nice for your other half is not being lazy ? It is being romantic !! Please get a grip of yourself. Do something randomly nice for your bird on the 23 of April. I guarantee you she will appreciate it 1000 times more than whatever you do on Valentines Day. 100% fact. Guaranteed. PS. This advise is free. You should take it.
