Would you go to a pub in the new stand?

Personally, it would have to be good to usurp my loyalty to the Diggers.

So are you happy with your current pre/post match drinking establishment?

Would you go to a pub in the new stand?

What would you like to see in said pub that would make you become a regular?

I don't think I would, for these reasons:

1. It would probably be more expensive than the surrounding pubs.

2. There are loads of pubs in the Gorgie area anyway.

3. Robbo's rules.

4. It would probably become mixed fans and not home fans only.

5. The atmosphere would most probably be ****e.

Not that the stand's ever going to happen.

If it was the same beer as they have in the Gorgie suite them probably not. :)

You could leave the bar at 14:55 and still be there before the Merchie crowd. :whistling:

Rugby stadiums down here and football grounds all have big concourses where over 1,000 fans can drink - they are always pretty full in the run up to games and at half time. people are just lazy and like to get to somewhere where they can stop and not have to shift again.

So I think it is build it and they will come. Guys who wouldn't be seen dead in Diggers will happily pay ?3 for 3% shandy - you watch

Happy with where I drink at the moment, happy with the prices and the company of those who drink there, so no I would not move simply because it is in the new stand. I can imagine it being very pricey as well.

Me, Ted, Shell, Johnmitchell, Jambo 71 etc etc are looking for a new establishment since the Westfield went away, however, we did a tour of gorgie and found some decent establishments. :)

That S.U.S.S is a complete huddy BTW, put me off Robbo's for life.

I think it would be attractive to those of us who take kids to the game.

As I understand it (although I've never been and have no wish to go) behind the goals down leith team's way allows children in.

Would make it attractive to some, and not so to others.

That said, if the beer was gash, I'd probably avoid it.

Nah, hopefully it'll be a roaring success - making it a bit easier to get served in the TA of a Saturday.

Aye probably. Only if it had an "over 18's" lounge area inside to seperate the adults from the kids and also only if it had a pool table or 6 inside.

Pricey beer doesn't bother me as HMFC get the cash and I'm a one can Dan anyway thesedays.

I think I read somewhere since the new stand came into the news that there will be a number of bars, or drinking areas John. I would like to think they will de designed to accommodate a whole cross section of the Hearts support, i.e. guys that are happy to meet, drink and talk football without any sort of paraphernalia, families with kids, people who want to combine both drink and a meal before/after the match etc.

It could well be the case that the present facilities within The Gorgie Suite will effectively be converted into a huge bar for the first category, i.e. guys just looking for a drink, whereas families/diners may be accommodated within the new area.

sure - you just have to fax him your drinks order, and he faxes it back

(with a few adjustments, but it's still your order)

If they allow you to sing Hearts songs I would drink there. It seems increasingly difficult to find a pub in Gorgie that allows singing these days.

if I can afford the entrance fee then yes I used to go to the bar that became the disabled club whatever. that was always good until some greedy barstwert ruined it for all

If the gorgie suite was open to the public then I would go, as it is I can only afford it once a year and what a day out that is. At the moment its a long walk from the guards club and its a bit busy in the barmoral. I would rather put my money into the Hearts than anywhere else, so yes
