I could hardly believe it. His first ever role in film or TV was an uncredited part in the original of The Italian Job. In 1979, he wrote a series of comedy sketches in which he invented an Irish music group who rejoiced in the name of The Ayatollah Ceili Band. He also has the same name (Frank Kelly) as my great-grandfather, who fought with the 10th Irish in the Great War. Just three oddball facts I thought I'd like to share.
