JudyJudyJudy Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Truly a cultural icon . Beautiful inside and out . Sadly , troubled for a variety of reasons but has left a lasting cultural impression . A terribly underrated actress . In the clip attached her acting is “ reactive “ acting . Superb. It was her last film and she as well as Monty Cliff , Clark Gable , Thelma Ritter and Eli Wallach all terrific in it . The monologue from Gable is beautiful , “ but I’m not lost “ ! God bless her
Maple Leaf Posted June 1 Posted June 1 A stunningly beautiful woman and a wonderful actress, but was badly treated by some around her. "Some Like it Hot" was a hilarious movie, considered by many critics to have been the best comedy film ever.
robertlaird Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Radio 4 are doing a 5 part series on her. The first being aired today. "Bombshell" I think it's called.

She was such a compelling figure that her untimely death has inspired decades of conspiracy theories, many involving the Kennedys, both JFK and Robert, as well as the Mafia. A lot of the theories about her death are nothing more than hearsay and rumors. The official cause of death is suicide. A new investigation by the LA DA was opened 20 years after her death, and the conclusion was that the original suicide verdict was correct. But politicians are powerful people, and so is the Mafia, so who knows?

And she had a black book, which was common knowledge and never recovered. https://www.cia.gov/readingroom/docs/CIA-RDP90-00552R000404360011-4.pdf Now compare to Dorothy Kilgallen. Exact same circumstances of “suicide” method. Oh, and she had a massive dossier on JKF’s assassination, which she had been working on. Guess what? That was never recovered either. Never mind, she had a close girl friend with whom she shared much of this information, so let’s talk to her and clear up these allegations? Oh dear. 48 hours after Kilgallen’s death, she ends up murdered. And guess what? No trace of any records found in her possession relation to Monroe/JFK. What a strange coincidence.

I don't accept many conspiracy theories, almost none actually, but the Kennedy assassination has many unanswered questions. I certainly don't accept the Oswald as a lone gunman BS. And poor Marilyn was dragged into that sinister quagmire.

And poor Marilyn was dragged into that sinister quagmire. If the reports are true, she had threatened to call a press conference to reveal secrets relating to “National security”, and details of her affairs with JFK and Bobby Kennedy. Secrets she had gleaned during pillow talk with both brothers allegedly. She certainly wasn’t anything like her “dumb blonde” on-screen persona. But that was a pretty dumb move. There’s a motive, right there. Edited June 3 by WorldChampions1902
