He banged them in for Hibs & Dundee in the championship and loved a goal in the derby but his top flight record is shite.

The level of anger at the mere prospect of Keane coming in is staggering. If they tank a new manager before he even starts and then continue volleying abuse at Desmond I really can’t see him dipping his hand into his pocket to the tune he would otherwise. Decent managers will also think twice about going there. Add in the pitch invasion crap and they’re making it so much more difficult for themselves. It’s fascinating to watch. Siloed, social echo-chambers, where nobody challenges their beliefs and extremism is cheered upon rarely ends up with success.
