The Black Prince Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Reading that he's a chance of staying but being courted by numerous clubs in the MLS and also the English Championship. What's the word in Embra? Love him to sign a new contract.
tartofmidlothian Posted May 27 Posted May 27 He's already joined up with Australia for friendlies in the US, apparently they name their World Cup squad on the 1st of June. I can see him keeping his options open until after the tournament in case he has some of the games of his life, like any player should.
RustyRightPeg Posted May 27 Posted May 27 His focus is on getting in the World Cup squad, quite rightly.

No Idle Talk Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Saw something on Facebook yesterday saying Rangers are considering going for him. Didn't bother reading it. Still in the doldrums about Shankland. 🙁
Shanks Posted May 27 Posted May 27 He is now probably wanting one of those shankland contracts. Great deal for a player that.

Wrong, his focus should be on the club thats paid his wages for years. We need a replacement or we don't need a replacement, he playing his hand exactly like the Rat did last season. Get a deal sorted or GTF.

His contract is up on Sunday then he’s no longer our player. Why would he focus on us when he’s trying to get into a World Cup squad? He's been vocal for years about wanting to go to another one.
Penrices left boot Posted May 27 Posted May 27 He'll be waiting to see who offers him the most money before committing. Like every player does. If we offers him tbe best deal- he'll stay, if not he'll **** off.

That's that sorted, great to hear he's not holding us to randsome.

He'll be 31 next time around so this is probably his best chance of actually playing at a World Cup. He's not in Hearts statement this morning so looks like we want him to return next season. Would love that but not an a "shanks" style contract.
busbyfth Posted May 27 Posted May 27 14 minutes ago, Shanks said: He is now probably wanting one of those shankland contracts. Great deal for a player that. Well phrased ------ he has joined a very long queue at our MDs door to demand a similar contract to Shank's fantasy Island one (one that few players on the planet could ever dream for) Devlin's playing the game - as expected players would/do ...except that his stock is not as high as it was a few months ago due to being off injured and coming back blatantly not fully/match fit. Its also a dangerous game, as we as a club are about to show that our squad players out of contract are in the main about to be jettisoned due to "upgrading" , and the board should be suitably embarrassed re Shanklands dealings, so wont be so easy to broker with.
kingantti1874 Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Really really hope he stays.. we need some continuity in that area of the pitch imo.. especially with those July ties coming around so quickly
Marvin Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Offer him the captaincy as part of a new deal. He proved to be a good deputy when wankland was out.
JamboJoker98 Posted May 27 Posted May 27 I imagine there is a contract on the table from us and we've offered what JTA thinks appropriate for his value or we'd have said goodbye, but he's keeping his options open and concentrating on the World Cup in the interim understandably. Would love him to stay to be honest
gnasher75 Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Hope he stays but hard to see it tbh. On top of financial and career reasons, some of his pals have gone. Beni, Shankland, Kent.
hmfc_liam06 Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Wait til @RustyRightPeg finds out he's been offered the captaincy to try convince him to stay 🤭

If we could keep cammy id be very confident we will come out of this window stronger than we finished last season.

Any player with an ounce of belief and respect would hold off until after world cup before committing their future. That's belief in themselves and respect for their current club. Takes a real snakey judas ***** to jump ship immediately after season end.
Pasquale for King Posted May 27 Posted May 27 He’s not guaranteed to even get in the WC squad never mind actually play. We can’t wait forever though as we have big gaps to fill asap.

I thought it was extremely poor form for the Aussie manager not to have given Cammy at least. few minutes in a dead rubber game - an insult, even.

Absolutely. Even this season past he went on a couple of trips to America/Canada with the Aussie team and didn't get a minute of game time. Then you see the minutes Kye Rowles gets? Fwiw I have nothing against Rowles, I just see Cammy as being a far more infuential player in terms of getting and retaining the ball for his team.

Armageddon Posted May 27 Posted May 27 His bird's Da' is a huge Hun (not that it means anything), and now his pal is there. I expect he'll end up in Glasgow. We'll sign better IMO.
Taffin Posted May 27 Posted May 27 I'd absolutely love him to stay but after the Shankland debacle I wouldn't be waiting for him. He's absolutely right to see how the world cup goes but I wouldn't be leaving our offer open until that's over. I'd have a deadline on it prior to that and if he says no, then it's gone. He can come back to us later if he wished but the terms will be less and we may already have signed a replacement.

Baldy61 Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Love to see Cammy next season alongside big Oisin and Tam. But suspect he will be off, possibly USA. Either way already looking forward to next season. Giving the old firm and GFA. It tight. Bring it on.

Scott980612 Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Fully support captaincy and wage rise. He is instrumental in how we play especially at home He was the best midfielder in the league for opening stages of the season. Would love him to stay

Possibly didn't feature in the Asian cup 2 years ago?
Davethehatman Posted May 27 Posted May 27 He is entitled to wait until after the world cup. With his GF being Scottish then maybe that strengthens our position, as more players are taking into consideration life outside football than before, which has worked against us in Islam not settling. Cammy seems like he has head screwed on so I don't think it will be solely about money for him.
JamboBornNBred Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Jamie Borthwick just posted this on twitter................................ Meanwhile talks are ongoing with Cammy Devlin and his representatives. I understand a fresh contract offer is close to being tabled.

rudi must stay Posted May 27 Posted May 27 The papers caught him early he has severed all ties with Hearts. There is no room for sentiment or emotion at Hearts
DxB Hearts Posted May 27 Posted May 27 Feel like him resigning would give the place a boost. Easy captaincy choice too.
