nick_3892 Posted May 16 Posted May 16 This whole season has been amazing!!! For the most part we really haven’t played pretty football. We’ve had injuries and suspensions to deal with. We planned for 3rd this season and came within a whisker of the title!! As per the heading, we didn’t lose the league because we bottled it, we were top for so long because we kept our bottle!! We could’ve easily faded around February, especially after Ibrox but we refused to be knocked down!!! Rather than be upset I am actually enthusiastic for the next 3 or 4 seasons!! Look at what we done planning for 3rd!!! The title is coming to tynecastle before this decade is up, mark my words. We can all feel it!!! This isn’t another 86, this is the first step to success!!!!!!!! 🇱🇻🇱🇻🇱🇻🇱🇻🇱🇻🇱🇻
Madjambo21 Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Players done everything they could. Some poor refereeing decisions and really bad injuries towards the end of the season tipped it against us. Proud of the season we have had even if it hurts right now. Time to recover and get some new players in over the summer and get ready for Champions league qualification

Neptune Posted May 16 Posted May 16 If we'd bottled it they wouldn't have needed the refs to help them out.

Tiday should have been either redundant or at worst the 3 goal cushion. Our boys did us proud. 80 poi ts is a massive achievement. Likely 82 if you include our robbed win at Motherwell

This isn’t another 86, this is the first step to success!!!!!!!! 🇱🇻🇱🇻🇱🇻🇱🇻🇱🇻🇱🇻 I agree this isn't another 1986, but the events of the last week in particular have demonstrated to me very clearly how much of an in-built bias there is towards Celtic from the SPFL, the referees and the VAR officials. We should never even have been playing in Glasgow - by an established precedent which has only very occassionally been disregarded we should have been at home. I won't even bother going over the failure to award us a penalty against Motherwell or the shitshow at Fir Park a few days later. Even the dogs in the street knew something was rotten in that match. When we're up against more than just the Ugly Sisters, it's going to be very difficult to change anything. The vested interests prefer the status quo.
vegas-voss Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Of course it wasn't.Only fans saying it was is Hibs and bizarrely Aberdeen as they like to pretend we are rivals
alicante jambo Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Fecked with injuries is the problem. But to the sheep and hubs fans looking in we are only going to get stronger so enjoy this while you can.
ToadKiller Dog Posted May 16 Posted May 16 The bubble never burst, we were done by the GFA whistlers last Saturday and Wednesday I Motherwell.
RealMaroonCF Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Bottle is February n march We took.it to may....next time ...We will get it. We never sh@t a moment We were there. You get there WITH bottle
CheshireHearts Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Not an ounce of bottling it - the opposite. With proper officiating today would have been a dead rubber. Everyone should be proud. Roll on next season.
Philfigo Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Couldn’t be prouder of this squad and management! So so strong mentally in the face of huge corruption and not to mention now they have had to physically strong to protect themselves for mass assaults by Celtic fans while a game of football is still ongoing!
kingantti1874 Posted May 16 Posted May 16 It certainly was not, we all know it would have been over before today without outside interference. But today the players have us everything. The injuries in the squad, the lack of fitness told in the end. Beni going off, Cammy and Milne not ready for 90. with a full squad we’d have gone there today and won

If anyone tries to suggest otherwise we can laugh in their faces. If we can add a bit more quality and come back stronger, and maybe have better luck with injuries, we might even have enough to deal with the anything-but-level playing field that is Scottish football. Sure, the Old Firm may be better next season as well, but if they're not, they're in deep trouble. Edited May 16 by Pingu
mr fox Posted May 16 Posted May 16 No chance it was They have 100-% bottle just need 2-3 better players and we will win this league.
Bauld Posted May 16 Posted May 16 The players had the league won. They never crumbled. The bubble never burst. They were robbed against Motherwell. Celtic were saved against Motherwell. The ONLY reason our players are not champions right now is because the SFA took it from them. That is FACT and it cannot be forgotten or ignored. Scottish football is corrupt.
Doc Rob Posted May 16 Posted May 16 This is my takeaway from the season. We were supposed to burn out. We were supposed to bottle it. Our bubble was supposed to burst. It never happened. Every time we had a setback we came back stronger. We played the OF 8 times, won 4 and only lost twice. We kept it going to the final few minutes of the final game of the season. We didn’t quite have the legs to see it out. But we never fell away. It was Rangers* who did that.
IsaacBegbiesSoccerIndians Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Yeah it was lack of bottle. We absolutely blew that.
Cade Posted May 16 Posted May 16 If anything the mentality of the manager and players only got stronger as the season progressed. We never crumbled. November was shite but other than that we were solid all the way through. And with JTA bringing in more talent every window, things are only going to get better. We're not going away.
boag1874 Posted May 16 Posted May 16 (edited) I’m taking no notice of the bottled it shite tbh, it doesn’t bother me at all. That was a team held together with duct tape who gave everything they had. Rangers bottled it, they were the team in form with all the momentum going into the split and shat the bed. We did all we could but it wasn’t quite enough to go unbeaten all season against the most successful team in the league. Edited May 16 by boag1874

Prehen Posted May 16 Posted May 16 I don’t understand how we lost this league. I am not talking about referee decisions or corruption. We had the best mgr, 4 in the SPFL team of the season, the best strike force in the country, beaten OF more than they beat us, worst Celtic and Rangers teams in living memory. How on earth are Celtic about to win a double. A double!!! After the Dundee Utd game I had them dead and buried. They have a mgr who has qualified for free bus pass nine yrs ago. I don’t understand how Hearts are not Champions. All a bit raw.

Clear few Posted May 16 Posted May 16 (edited) Obviously mildly pissed walking the dog so sent this email to the Spfl and the sfa 😂 Dear Sir/Madam, I know you don’t give a damn but congratulations for manipulating Celtic into a position to allow them to win their 56th League Title. Pardon my language but you are all a barrel of corrupt *****. Your Sincerely, Brian ******** Sent from my iPhone Edited May 16 by Clear few

Only reason we lost the league were down to two things. McLean and Beaton.

Oh and Doncaster who organised the split fixtures to ensure we had to go to the cesspit on last game of the season.

It was always unlikely we were going to get anything from that game. We should never be in the position of winning the league, and the fact we were even close is remarkable. Im not that hurt at all about loosing today, it was Wednesday that killed it and I dont know if ill ever get over that decision celtic got at motherwell Edited May 16 by jb66
E3OBE Posted May 16 Posted May 16 Far too many crucial injuries at the back end of the season cost us and the January window delivered nothing that has had a big enough impact this season when we needed it most.
GinRummy Posted May 16 Posted May 16 The guys entitled to his opinion ffs. He’s clearly a Hearts fan.

Rudi5kaceldream1ng Posted May 16 Posted May 16 In these types of situations in the past with Hearts I've irrationally put it down to mistakes I've made personally lmao.... I'm sitting here scratching my head. I've made none... but apart from that rubbish I'm pretty damn sure hearts played the best game we could have today.... Life goes on. We can dream again we will win this league. 1st bite at it.
