Gorgie_Rules Posted May 6 Posted May 6 With the Celtic game now being confirmed as at worst being a competitive fixture for us, surely there is an opportunity for the club to put on ticketed screenings of the game inside Tynecastle? Big screens on the pitch may be a push time wise, but all the hospitality suites and potentially a big screen on the plaza? With the small allocation at Parkhead the pubs in Gorgie will be rammed so would be a good opportunity to accommodate as many fans as possible and contribute to what will hopefully be the most monumental of parties for the bus coming back (they’ll deserve the welcome even if its a poor outcome).

Depends on if there is a wedding or such already on that day but if not id assume they would.

No Idle Talk Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Gorgie is going to be pandemonium that day. If we've won it. It would be great to have a screening of the game in all areas of Tynecastle but I'm not sure if it would work logistically. Presumably the team would parade the trophy on the Sunday and bring it back to Tynecastle and the stadium would be full. So the big screen would need to be taken down again before that.

Probably still deciding how to break the bad news to all those Jambos who regularly go to Sellick park that there is only a hundred tickets left after the sponsors and hangers on gets theirs
KevinKyle10 Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Not necessarily Tynecastle, but does anyone know any pubs in/around gorgie I’ll be able to take my 14 year old son with me for the Celtic game? obviously got season tickets and managed to get tickets for Motherwell, but highly doubt we’ll get tickets to go through there.

red Posted May 6 Posted May 6 if we can win it with Falkirk surely they bring the trophy and present it to us at home? is that how it works? surely

sac Posted May 6 Posted May 6 What about the two big screens inside the stadium, or the screens on the Wheatfield concourse?

EH11 2NL Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Got to imagine if this weekend goes well for us, something will be arranged for the Celtic game

Jack Torrance Posted May 6 Posted May 6 (edited) There's loads of screens up at Fountain Park. Surely we could take over the cinema for one day. Edit.... https://www.cineworld.co.uk/static/en/uk/venue-hire-events/film-screenings Edited May 6 by Jack Torrance

Brass Monkey on Gorgie Road Used to be Jessie May's. Or Ardmillan Hotel.

Yes but if we equal it, it leaves the opportunity that we COULD be champions on Wednesday in the situation we were to beat Falkirk & Celtic drop points in their game v Motherwell. If we were to lose on Saturday and Celtic win Sunday, there is absolutely no possible way we can win the league on Wednesday is what I meant Edited May 6 by AC Mallin_51

Lord Beni of Gorgie Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Despite the loss in 86 many fans congregated at the Caledonian Hotel if I remember, to laud the team, it will be the same thing win or lose, this team is very much loved

JJ93 Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Sorry but if we win it surely the cup parade would be SCHEDULED for a later date? Not immediately after the game???
Gorgie_Rules Posted May 6 Author Posted May 6 2 minutes ago, JJ93 said: Sorry but if we win it surely the cup parade would be SCHEDULED for a later date? Not immediately after the game??? It won’t be a parade. It will be similar to the Neil Pointon video’s of ‘98 of the team returning back to Tynecastle (from Parkhead incidentally!). Gorgie will be rammed due to our small allocation. I suspect if we win the league the parade would be the following day a week on Sunday.
Jamboross Posted May 6 Posted May 6 (edited) 6 minutes ago, JJ93 said: Sorry but if we win it surely the cup parade would be SCHEDULED for a later date? Not immediately after the game??? Any official parade will likely be on the Sunday regardless of which game gets us over the line (if indeed we get over the line), the cup parades have usually been the day after. There will absolutely be an unofficial 'parade' after the Celtic game though when the team bus gets back to Edinburgh if we've won it. Gorgie was carnage the night of the cup wins. I am planning on being in Edinburgh for both Falkirk and Celtic games so hope to be part of history with everyone else!!
hughesie27 Posted May 6 Posted May 6 The council/police have initial plans underway for a parade for the Sunday (Even if it was won a week today)

leginten Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Game projected on to the Castle Rock from some location in Princes Street. Takeover of Princes St Gardens by 30,000 Jambos.
Thunder and Lightning Posted May 6 Posted May 6 Can we get any local cinemas with a bar involved? Reclining seats and bevy...
