Cruyff Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Tbh, at the turn off the split I thought we were finishing 2nd or 3rd and the only way we really had a chance was to win the first two games. Had we lost either, it were done imo but we won both. I cannae see oast us, what do we need? A win and a draw? Fantasy stuff. Never thought I'd live long enough to see it happen.

We beat title contenders, came back from 1-0 down, 11v11, no dodgy ref calls, no penalties. No caveats on last nights win whatsoever. We can beat Motherwell.

FERRY HEARTS Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Was sitting with head in my hands last night every time orcs went up park ! Magnificent defensive display from Lads and Del got the substitutions spot on , Need to stop giving teams a goal start, and hopefully the Dream will come true 🇱🇻🇱🇻

bloomtime Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Beat mwell we can win it but as my son said knowing us we would beat mwell and lose to falkirk. Twats like mcginn o'donnell welsh and slattery will be out to do their team a favour.

Hearts1975 Posted May 5 Posted May 5 I am feeling confident now. A matter of weeks ago I thought we were losing it when Shanks and dev were out. We were grinding out results and not playing well Being honest this feels more like the team that started the season like a train. That swagger, belief and confidence is back and we have a manager that just won't let the players do anything else other than focus on winning the next game In years gone by our bottle would have gone by now. 5 games in the one season where we have smashed the OF in each of them. The confidence will be through the roof. We are beating the big teams, consistently. You need to go back to 2005/6 to even come close and even at that our record wasn't as good. That's the head talking. Will be glad when this is all done, that's a certainty

bloomtime Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Never count chickens not after 86 beat utd at tannadice in 86 came out thinking thats it, clydebank home then dundee and we all know how that turned out. Until the mhanky mob can't catch us I'll be bag of nerves.

Last night I admitted to my mates that I think we will do it. If we win on Saturday v Well, I will be as confident of a title win as anyone could be. Don't want to be going to Parkhead looking for a point to seal lt. So Motherwell or Rangers still need to do us a favour if we were to win it against Falkirk. I think, my head is scrambled this morning 🙄
JamboGraham Posted May 5 Posted May 5 I have complete confidence that we can win all 3 games. However, we should be under no illusion just how difficult this journey still is. Motherwell have an outstanding record at Fir Park this season and of the 3 matches so far we have only had a lead against them for a few minutes. Falkirk have already demonstrated they can make life difficult for us at Tynecastle. The only way I can retain any composure at all is to remind myself it's a 3 game, 1 week season and we have been given a 3 point and 5 goal headstart. But even then the margin for error is tiny. I can't see past Saturday night now. If we take the 3 points it asks a huge question of Celtic the following day. Still far too many variables for me, even at this late stage.
Mister T Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Still a long way to go. Derek won't be letting anyone get ahead of themselves. Need to keep the focus and deal with Motherwell and on to Falkirk. I feel sick thinking about it and excited at the same time. It's exhausting.

We have given ourselves a huge chance but I for one won't be confident until it's mathematically in the bag. This is it for me exactly. The scars of an 18 year old laddie in 1986 will not allow me to believe anything until its over. I cant take that again. One game at a time...
79points Posted May 5 Posted May 5 (edited) Celtic need to win the OF if we beat Motherwell and will be expected to in front of their own fans against a wounded animal. Rangers could still win the league if they win all three and we only get a point from Motherwell and Falkirk, then draw with Celtic. They will give absolutely everything to stay in it and stop Celtic. I believe that if we beat Motherwell we will win the league, regardless of what Celtic do with Rangers and Motherwell. If we win and Rangers beat them, I just cant see us not beating Falkirk at home. Edited May 5 by 79points

Head says we're on the brink and will take a bit of stopping. Heart says we still have significant work to do. My heart and head say the opposite
Takeshi kovac Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Final whistle yesterday I was full of confidence that we are winning it, but that dread from 86 is creeping back in. Pretty much the full of 2026 I have been a nervous wreck game after game. If and when we finally get that monkey off our back i don't think I will ever get nervous for a game again. JUST F'N DO IT HEARTS 🤎

ferenc puskas Posted May 5 Posted May 5 In 1986 we kept thinking Celtic will drop points, and they didnt. They became almost impregnable for the last few games. Make no mistake, they will do the same again. They will beat Rangers and they will beat Motherwell. Its in their DNA or something. We have to beat both Motherwell and Falkirk to win this league. If we go to Parkhead on the last day 3 points and five goals clear I will believe it is done when the final whistle blows. This is not negativity, this is the reality we should all be engaged with. If you think anything otherwise you were not at Dens Park in 1986.

thegreatsd Posted May 5 Posted May 5 The last couple of game v Hibs and Rangers have grown my confidence. This team we have just now have shown us what they are all about mentally. We all know the talent and the last couple of games have solidified exactly the strength of character we have got here. As nervy and cautiously optimistic as I am ….,now is the time to really soak this up and enjoy every moment. This is as good as it gets. Such a great moment waking up today and having that brief..’did that really happen’ moment. Enjoy your day everyone and roll on Saturday👍🇱🇻🇱🇻

A home win versus Rangers and away win at Motherwell is entirely possible for them, probable even. In almost any other set of circumstances would anyone be realistically anticipating Celtic not getting 6 points. We have to focus on doing our job.
jamboozy Posted May 5 Posted May 5 I believe we can do it, but, by feck it’s got me wired, wired too tight.🫣
Papa John Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Like a lot of fans on here still carry the scars from Dens Park. We must find a way to beat Motherwell on Saturday and crank up the pressure on Celtic.

Do you honestly think Celtic could beat us by 6 on final day? They haven't scored more than 4 goals in a league game all season this season, and only 2 or 3 times.
JamboJoker98 Posted May 5 Posted May 5 After the elation of last night, it is back to business today. We have won nothing until it mathematically is achieved so we really need to just focus on 3 points on Satuday. Another huge ask on paper but with this team man, never write them off.
gregzy2k7 Posted May 5 Posted May 5 For me we are now in pole position to lift the Title, I said if we beat rangers, we will go all the way and I really can't see why not now. Obviously motherwell away will be difficult but I geniunely think celtic could drop points in the OF match, so I wouldn't be too worried of any result tbh. Quietly confident we will get it over the line, this hearts team is built different imo.

Win at Motherwell and it is all but done - that however is a big ask. Can we do it? Of course we can. Will we? We'll see!!! This is where I'm at. Win at motherwell and it's all but in the bag. Especially if Celtic lose or draw in the derby.
Valois No1 Posted May 5 Posted May 5 For those of us that can remember 86 we know it’s far from over. If we beat Motherwell and Celtic don’t win then yes we will win that league. However if we go to Celtic Park and they can win it then I think they will. The refs would make sure of that.
Eldar Hadzimehmedovic Posted May 5 Posted May 5 (edited) It's such a mind ****. Three games in a row against Motherwell, Hibs and Rangers we've come from a goal down to win all of them. That shows incredible character. We are mentally tougher than everyone else it seems - we actually have the most bottle weirdly. But it's still Celtic. I've been scarred by them so many times. Part of me thinks they would get any result they need against us on the final day, even four or five nil. But that maybe was the first time last night for me where it looked like the players really believe they will do this. Good sign for Motherwell game. But God I hope Rangers get something. My brain is pickled. It's too much. Edited May 5 by Eldar Hadzimehmedovic

LogicalEric Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Last night felt different. Looking at the gaffer and the players walking round at the end, there wasnt any mental over celebrating. It looked like a proper steely focus on the next game(s) and the next 3 points on the board.
daavojaay Posted May 5 Posted May 5 I think we go to celtic Park as champions. We will beat motherwell go six points clear. 2-2 draw at the old firm game making it 5 points, then we beat falkirk at tynie and we've done it
Bauld Posted May 5 Posted May 5 The players and the manager have me believing that we have what it takes to see this through. Motherwell will be the hardest game we play in this split. If we win that. We do the job against Falkirk I believe we will be there. The last thing we want is it coming down to the final day but......I believe we go to park head and win. Such in my belief in this squad.

Australis Posted May 5 Posted May 5 The final few games left with regulars like Milne, Devlin, Magnusson and McEntee all out injured. The players covering and standing in for have stepped up and done so well. It's so close but could still go either way. Hopefully three points and a win at Motherwell would be most welcome in our next cup final. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Jamhammer Posted May 5 Posted May 5 I was 23 in 1886 and I just enjoyed the games home and away till the last week Obviously I’m 63 this year and never thought we’d get this close I can’t explain it but, as stressful as the games are there’s a calmness too that these players will get the job done. The gaffer exudes it, the players look like they’ve bought into it. The whole club feels united and strong. All I’m thinking about is Motherwell These guys can become immortal
daavojaay Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Plus celtic still.need to go to motherwell aswell. I see 2 draws with them and with rangers I think 1 win against motherwell or falkirk and its in the bag. Preferably beat them both and celtic on final day 5-0 just to put salt in the wounds
Debut 4 Posted May 5 Posted May 5 This morning, relief from coming behind feeds into the euphoria. And that’s with every game. It helps the players, it adds to the belief with every game that passes, the momentum keeps rolling along and emboldens the players. They are showing some nerve at the moment and showed tremendous character yesterday to come from behind and win. We know what they’ve got in the locker. But Saturday is a new game. The job isn’t done but we take everything with us into it which I just mentioned above. We just need to keep enjoying the journey and stay behind the team beyond 100% until we know the final outcome. The players have definitely just taken it a game at a time to this point and that will continue. You can feel it’s like that, imo.

JimmyCant Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Let’s see what happens at the weekend. It won’t be done whatever the 2 outcomes are if we get a chance to put GD beyond Celtic’s reach in the next 2 games we absolutely have to take it. I’d have the fear going there needing to avoid a 3-0 defeat and of course they could close that GD gap before then
