selkirkhmfc1874 Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Great initiative but imo bit expensive , people struggling just now and season tickets etc on sale for next season ! As a support we do more than most supporting the club and our charity but only so many times you can expect the fans to fork out

Penrices left boot Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Takes a big effort to ruin a charity thread and turn it into a negative. Boy fae Selkirk on his game today.

Fans are expected to fork out for this in the same way they are expected to fork out for a yacht for themselves. There is no expectation. The whole event is fantastic value anyway.

Wee Mikey Posted April 10 Posted April 10 (edited) Hurrah! I've found one of my pairs of boots ... the not so good ones, so I'll keep looking. They're like slippers these days so little wonder players pick up injuries ... not that I'll likely get anywhere near a crunching tackle! ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️ - ⚽️ to the 16:00 KO home team. I’m sick of folk moaning about things they can’t afford but others can. There is plenty in life I can’t afford. This is a great initiative.

Artificial Intelligence. 👇 "In King of the Hill, Hank Hill frequently describes his son, Bobby, as not being "right," but there are specific instances where Bobby is portrayed or described as "special" in a more literal or ironic, often misunderstood way." I reckon that our 'special person' is simply mis-understood; being, as he is (with no doubt whatsoever), a committed supporter. Anyhoo ... please come along on Wed 20th May, @selkirkhmfc1874, and you can join in the fun! Fact is ... it's the very bestest day of the year for Hearts fans ... bar NONE! When else could folks not only support Big Hearts, but also get a rather unique opportunity to strut their stuff on our pitch at Tynie? For anyone who has ever wished to do so, then this is it. Access to the changing rooms; warming up on the pitch; lining up in the tunnel just like a real-life match day; watching the match unfold from the dug-outs; a Big Hearts strip to take home as a souvenir; coached by a Hearts legend; a ref & 2 linesmen giving up their time to keep the peace (lol, 😆); some goodies; a post-match social for 2 guests; and all for a modest fee for participation. This really MUST be one of the most awkward events to organise, so hats off to the Big Hearts Crew and those within the club who make it happen. As for the 'cost'? It's a steal!! It's likely by now totally booked up, so I reckon that it has been priced just about right. Having said that, my credit card took the hit. 😒
Wee Mikey Posted April 10 Posted April 10 Ps ... @Penrices left boot ... I've now found my 'proper' boots; so, seeing as you're on the away team? Just watch out.

Also, don't try to shit on a charity for offering something that some will want to do. They are not expecting people to do anything they are offering an opportunity. What went wrong in your life to make you such a negative person?
BigHearts Posted April 13 Author Posted April 13 Hi guys, fully caught up here, haha. Glad to see so much engagement on this thread. Just wanting to give a little update.. - Match #2 (7:45pm) entirely sold out for both home and away. - Match #1 (4:00pm) availability looking like: home team goalkeeper, and then everything else left is away so the away team captain, the away team goalkeeper, one outfield, and five substitutes. See you soon! - Julia

Not trying to shit on anything, imo it's a bit expensive but I'm a big backer of Big Hearts charity and always will be infact was me who put in the winning bid for the pair of tickets for the new years game against Hibs 2025 to have access to directors suite and watch match in directors box
selkirkhmfc1874 Posted April 13 Posted April 13 For the benefit of doubt Big Hearts do a marvellous job and the charity is something everybody should be very proud of

Then it all went to pot after big changes 🤣 10/10 manager though, would definitely sign for him again 😁
BigHearts Posted April 13 Author Posted April 13 If anyone knows any goalkeepers both home and away for 4pm need one!

Wee Mikey Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Bump ... Still a slot for the away team goalkeeper and subs for match #1 available. Don't miss out!!!
So Funkin Kyzi Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Does anyone know how the the substitutes work? are you guaranteed some game time?
Wee Mikey Posted April 18 Posted April 18 1 hour ago, So Funkin Kyzi said: Does anyone know how the the substitutes work? are you guaranteed some game time? Guaranteed game time. Can be subbed on / off several times. It's a full-on match but subbing is flexible. Being as I was 65 years old last year, I simply requested a few mins each half which was fine for me. The younger players (most of whom are right good footballers) run their socks off and play a full match; others, such as myself, simply do their best and enjoy the experience. It's a great day; no ifs or buts.

What, with a Big Hearts kit as a souvenir, and a truly unique inside look at the changing rooms and so on, it really, really is money well spent ... and money which goes to our award winning charity. Everyone wins!
Wee Mikey Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Bump ... Remember, folks, two matches; 16:00 KO & 19:45 KO, Wed 20th May. Previous events have been splendid. As per, I'll be a sub (I specifically request only a few mins as I'm not getting any younger). Last year, I managed to complete 2 x 5 / 10 mins without touching the ball, but like to think that my off-the-ball contribution was sound. 😄 A mate got a few vids of me running back & forth like a right eejit; or, as I'd have it, man-marking with aplomb. Anyhoo, it's much fun occupying the changing rooms, warming up, sitting in the dug-out, and so on. It's also a decent social event, so why not pop along to offer support? Access from the Plaza into the main stand. Oh, and for anyone on the 'Away' team, 16:00 KO who wishes to kick lumps out of me, then here's your chance ... but you'll have to catch me first! 👇 @Absolute Scenes + @Penrices left boot
