JJ1984 Posted April 6 Posted April 6 I honestly don’t know. All three teams have looked like title winners then nae chance then it’s back on. Rangers for me at this moment in time but that’s changed so many times over the last few weeks even. This coming weekend is huge. Realistically out easiest game left. Need to win.
1971fozzy Posted April 6 Posted April 6 (edited) I’m going for us in the hope we beat Motherwell and the huns lose at Falkirk. The way the seasons going that’s possible Edited April 6 by 1971fozzy
AC Mallin_51 Posted April 7 Posted April 7 (edited) Surprised at how many think Rangers over Celtic. 4 home games for Celtic and 4 away games for Rangers. Celtic haven’t been great but 4 away games is hard going for Rangers. 2 v Falkirk who they’ve haven’t beaten this season, away to us and away to Celtic. MoN not lost any of the other 3 OF games this season and they’ve all been away from Parkhead. I was more worried about Rangers til I saw their run in. Celtic are 2 points behind Rangers but with those fixtures I’d be surprised if they didn’t make the points up on Rangers. Edited April 7 by AC Mallin_51
haj Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Don’t see Rangers winning at Parkhead or Tynecastle. Hearts this season have done well against the teams that want to play and struggled against those who sit in and Tbh I think it’s a toss of a coin now. Despite some of the fear amongst our support I’ve seen nothing from either old firm team to suggest they’re going to steamroller this top 6. The next few weeks is going to be total carnage and we have every chance of coming out at the top of the pile come the end of it.

No easy games in this league. Certainly not, against a good Motherwell side. The only team we are yet to beat this season. To win on Saturday, the boys will need a very strong performance right across the park. Our home performances and results have been very good. Need more of the same. The crowd will play a big part.

Could see them easily drawing at least 2 or 3 of those games. If one of the grusome twosome are going to do it, I would bet Celtic are the more likely. I still think we have a decent shot at it if we could just grab an away win from somewhere and maybe a point against Celtic.

They’ve likely got Falkirk twice (who they haven’t beaten). Us (who haven’t lost at home) & Celtic (who’ve not lost an OF under MoN this season) If Rangers win the league after that run in, honestly they’d 100% deserve it. They’re gonna have to take a fair chunk of points from 4 solid away games. I sadly think Celtic’s 4 home games could see them through, luckily we have the 3 point advantage over them and a better GD. I think it’s looking like we’d need to avoid defeat through there though

neilnunb Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Do we think away fans will be banned/reduced for the OF game after the Scottish Cup fiasco? That could have a massive bearing on the outcome.

Charlie-Brown Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Que Sera Sera...... If we win the league it will be absolutely fantastic but even if we don't it will be okay we will still have had a great season. As long as we give it our all and keep fighting until the end...whatever will be will be. Don't stop believing, hold on to the feeling

Also I watched the whole match at Ibrox on Saturday and the 4-2 flattered Rangers. Their 4th came from a breakaway just after United had hit the post pressing for an equaliser. They could quite easily have dropped two points there. I can't see them winning six on the bounce from next weekend. If they do, then grudgingly they will have deserved it (usual caveats in place!).

Big Barney for a move, Scottish cup places and just to **** shit up. Falkirk will give every game the same effort. Hibs look like they will need to as as well, as they'll have the chance to catch Motherwell, especially if we beat them this weekend. Motherwell ditto with Hibs on them It's gonna be cut throat. We must beat well tho.
Debut 4 Posted April 7 Posted April 7 It’s hard to tell because no one sticks out. All the top 3 can struggle through games and get their win. I really do think we need to steady ourselves and dig deeper because I think there’s more twists to come. We need to look at the top of the table and believe we are deserving of where we are and fight tooth and nail to stay there. Like we have done for most of the season. You can let pressure get into your head and think the opposition are even harder to beat than before or block that out and realise you’ve beaten them already and can do it again. Keep fighting in our heads to take each game in isolation. Work, prepare and be ready as before for every game we’ve approached.

Bozi Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Our record against the smaller teams over the.last couple of months has been our Achilles. It shows that while we have had an outstanding season we lack the real quality in depth that the bigots do. They have multimillion pound players throughout their team, whether they are value is another argument. The loss of Shankland and Devlin hurt us, we showed great resolve with some narrow wins but the lack of real quality to unlock defences has been pretty obvious, only Shankland offers us that. The one thing I am clutching onto is that Shankland and Braga is by far the best forward pairing in the league, Halkett and Findlay the best centre back pairing. If we can keep everyone fit until the end of the season then it's still in our own hands.
RoiK Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Whilst a big part of me wants to see Celtic already out of the race before the final round of fixtures, just think for a moment how enjoyable it would be to deny them the title on the final day……at Parkhead.

H2 Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Everyone needs to be taking the believe pills. Having an opinion that supports the wedgie does us no good. Take a pill, get off your opinion of realism. [It is just an opinion] Think positive. Believe. We are the underdogs. One game at a time. We can win this league. Take the 💊. Enjoy the ride.

No Idle Talk Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I didn't realise we had a two week break between Motherwell and Hibs. That could be perfect for us. Give us time to regroup mentally and get a few key players closer to full fitness. Just get the three points against Motherwell and get ready for the final push.

Regardless of the end result I have ****ing loved every moment of this season (even when I had a mid season meltdown) (apologies lads/McInnes)
Romulus Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Celtic have 4 homes 2 away, Hearts 3 homes 3 away and Rangers 2 homes 4 away (including away to both teams). We really need a draw in that OF game and hope for other dropped points along the way.
Maple Leaf Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I've voted for Hearts, but that insipid, error-filled performance against the bottom team on Sunday has shaken my confidence.
Chong Posted April 7 Posted April 7 3 minutes ago, Maple Leaf said: I've voted for Hearts, but that insipid, error-filled performance against the bottom team on Sunday has shaken my confidence. Yep Sunday was a bitter pill too swallow, however, there was far more intent in our attacking play, compared with recent displays versus St Mirren and Kilmarnock and at times we looked very good. Unfortunately we didn't get the breaks and then defensively we looked uncharacteristically unconvincing for the full match. That was literally an anomaly, of course we've had spells here and there but that was the first time since Easter Road that we genuinely looked like conceding every time the opponent attacked. Time before that was probably Motherwell at home. That's our next two games ironically and if we cut out that kind of nonsense at the back and revert to type I'm confident we have enough attacking capabilities to maximize the points on board, if we do that we become very difficult to stop overall. Nervy times though no doubt.
Glasgowben Posted April 7 Posted April 7 (edited) It's gonna be the pathetic match at Kilmarnock and not taking 3 v Livi that will be our undoing. Win those 2 and we'd almost certainly be winning this league. Now it's a proper lottery. Edited April 7 by Glasgowben

neilnunb Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Celtic letting the Green Brigade back with immediate effect. They must be in with a chance of the title all of a sudden. 🙄

AD 1874 Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I have felt all along that Celtic will sneak it, and even more so after seeing the fixtures today.
Broon187409 Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Voted Hearts. The facts are that the pressure on both the arse cheeks will be massively ramped up now because neither can bare the other to win of course and might well play into our hands as most, including a lot of fan dan's on here, have written us off again. I mean FFS we are still top of the league with 6 games to go, and yes, all the games will be tough from now on, and yes further, away form has dipped, but come on, it's still there for the taking and with a wee bit more ambition from Del and the players will see us bag it. Keep the faith folks, all teams are gonna drop points so we should be embracing the situation not trying to over analyze things or jumping on the team or Del every set back we have, we will almost have a full squad to pick from come the split too.

A league cup win and languishing in the bottom 6 is in no way a great season for a team like Hearts. We were bottom 6 last season. We are currently 13pts clear of the rest of the teams excluding the OF. That is a huge turnaround after only one full season with JTA. We are currently top with 6 to play. It's not a stretch to say this has already been a great season. To lose now will be crushing, but looking at the bigger picture, increasing the gap from us and the rest is the first step. Challenging the OF every season is the next. No reason to think we won't improve next season. This is only the start.
