the only chance we have to still win this thing is to change formation, tactics and personnel

even at that its a very slight chance at best unfortunately

we will look back at the falkirk cup game as to where it all went wrong

i blame the manager for not focusing on the league in that match by playing u21s and fringe players leading to injuries for shanks then shortly afterwards devlin which might not have happened had they had a rest that night

Whether people like it or not Spittal is the only creative central midfielder we have fit and we badly need a player that can shoot from distance. Currently, only he and Kingsley seem to have that in their locker, albeit Kyzi can also ping one now and again.

We definitely need to be shooting more.

Devlin's injury did not happen in the cup match and him playing in it had no bearing on the fact that St Mirren thug Phillips decided to take him out late in that league match.

Findlay back fit,  hopefully Milne too (though Kingsley did pretty well on Sunday). I'd bring in Spittal as he's the closest thing to an attacking midfielder we have and did fine in his recent home starts.

We should score as our forwards are our strongest part of the team so keep a clean sheet and we're winning this. 2-0 Braga and Shankland.

I’m not sure DM will go for traditional 3 midfielders. It’ll be much the same but he’ll hope for Milne to be fit to add legs down the left and he has the option to bring in Altena on the other side.

It may be a game to bring Altena back in to combat Motherwell trying to dominate the ball in midfield. He can retain the ball and move with it.  He’s good awareness and elusiveness when he needs to get away in a tight spot.  It may be similar to the Dundee game where he plays ahead of McEntee.

DM may look at Altena. Devlin. Beni. and Kyz with Braga and Shankland as per.

Christ, is that all?

It should be simple enough then.

How the Hell did it take so long to find the answer?

It's quite interesting how many people who see us pressing Motherwell high up with intensity as the way to beat them, when it's pretty much the opposite that's seen them hit the skids.

Teams have figured them out and are standing off now and it's leaving them with no way to get through teams, they want you pressing so they can play through you.

That's not to say you can't force them into mistakes, you need to trigger the press at the right times, ideally when they've ran out of ideas when they are playing it about the back, but if you go all out to press them they'll pick you off.

Just look at how Hibs and Falkirk have played them the last few times they've played. It's standing off and frustrating them.

McInnes will know this, I just hope it's not confused with being negative and the fans get on the players backs if we play that way. We will need to be patient I feel.

Start slow and concede a goal, create loads of chances then equalise.

1-1 scoreline & the usual online supporter meltdown criticising tactics, players, square pegs, bottles, negatives, positives, passes forwards, backwards and sideways, late subs, early subs, no subs, doctors and nurses, motivation and hot bovril.

Just the norm.

Motherwell will have the bulk of possession, anyone who has watched them this season will know that, Hopefully Hearts fans are patient on Saturday as I expect Motherwell to have more possession of the football

I think Hearts might deploy a man marking job on Just.

Not been much in the possession in previous 2 meetings 55%/45% in last meeting and 51%/49% one before.

Maybe, just maybe, McInnes won't be a stubborn prick and play the one actual right-back we have instead of playing folk out of position.

But then again, probably not. 😡

Noticed he was dropped completely again on Sunday despite making the bench against Dundee. 🙄

I want to see Spittal in the team. He is the only avaliable midfielder who plays the quick forward passes we need to split defences.

Not convinced it's a day to experiment with Altena at right back given Motherwell's attacking options.

Stating the obvious maybe, but if we don't win this it's bust; kaput; gone; a what might have been. Well = Win

           Hobos = Win (nap)

            Falkirk= Win

           Well= Win

            Huns=Win

            Tims= Draw-possibly, maybe nothing required!

I enjoyed being in the South Stand on Sunday.  Good atmosphere, I joined in with singing and definitely celebrated the goals 😆 some scenes in there.   I'll be looking to continue that momentum on Saturday. Regardless of the result.

I'm not feeling down or upset.   Looking forward to the match at Tynecastle.

Hopefully we got as few injuries as possible and ready to go again.   Some players to come back, some just getting used to being back.   I don't doubt the players will want to put on a show , an improved performance, a desire to win.  To give the home support what they deserve.

So on that , I'm just going to enjoy it as best I can untill it's beyond winning or drawing.

I'll maybe call a score or scorers closer to kick-off.

Jesus, maybe you shouldn't go if you think that about the manager. If you think Borch is making an appearance this season a different sport perhaps for you.

Works for me other than Milne  for Kingsley if fit.   Press high, win the ball in midfield and pass forward at speed.  3-1.

McEntee will definitely start. I wouldn’t mind him at RB if Altena is in front of him, but that’s going to mean a change in shape to a 4-4-2. Which could work especially if Milne is back.

Or he goes 3-5-2 to flood the midfield that would worry me though with Motherwells ability to play through the lines.

The only way to beat the bigot twins is to tackle their defence, the way Motherwelll play, we must use this tactic against them. Get forward and tackle in their own half, move the ball forward quickly and get players into the box. One attacker in the box against three or more defenders makes it near impossible to score. Every player has to go at this 100% full steam ahead. No and I mean NO pissing around with pointless passes back and forth around the defence.

Big test for DM to see if he can get the team and tactics right from KO.

How many times have we beaten them this season? We could just play like we did in those games

Also like this, even if McEntee was right back and Altena played in the middle. Altena is technically a very good footballer and probably more creative therefore could offer something different. Have a funny feeling he’ll be on the bench and Spittal will play though

With the way Motherwell play, we can’t afford to be overrun in the middle of the pitch which is why I think it’ll be 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 whatever way you look at it.

Our home form is best in the league.  No need to reinvent the wheel but maybe take more than one of our chances please 🙏
