sadj Posted March 16 Posted March 16 (edited) Sinners and One Battle After Another the big winners One Battle After Another - Best Picture Paul Thomas Anderson - (One Battle After Another) - Best Director Michael B Jordan (Sinners) - Best Actor Jessie Buckley (Hamnet) - Best Actress Amy Madigan (Weapons) - Best Supporting Actress Sean Penn - (One Battle After Another) - Best Supporting Actor Few other wins for Sinners, a couple for One Battle After Another and a few for Frankenstein that I saw. Fashion Wise thought most were more understated, classy and chic this year. Anne Hathaway one of the more flamboyant dresses but i think she pulled it off Jessie Buckley looked classy as I love Emma Stone but dont think this worked https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/awards/story/2026-03-15/oscars-2026-red-carpet-fashion-best-looks Link to best looks in the LA Times opinion Edited March 16 by sadj

Martin B Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Loved Sinners. Managed to avoid any trailers or spoilers before watching it so everything came as a surprise. Reminded me a lot of From Dusk til Dawn in that it was like two totally different genres of film mashed together with a ‘twist’ moment. Not seen One Battle After Another but love Di Caprio so it’s on my list.
Dick Dastardly Posted March 16 Posted March 16 One Battle After Another won Oscars? Jeezy peeps. It was ok but, imo, hardly Oscar worthy.
BlueRiver Posted March 16 Posted March 16 Delighted to see Jessie Buckley winning for Hamnet. Such a superb performance. One of those films that you just knew from seeing it she'd win multiple awards.
JackLadd Posted March 16 Posted March 16 When was the last Oscar ceremony anybody cared about? Must be in 2000s.
Cade Posted March 16 Posted March 16 2004. Return of the King won cinema. Everything since then has been pish.
