Hoping that home trainers manage to win some of the bigger races this year.

Would be nice to shut the Irish up at Cheltenham before beating them on Saturday in the rugby

champion hurdle

golden ace 13/1  - much better horse at cheltenham unlike some of her rivals - way overpriced imo

poniros 17/1 - was inconsistent on the flat so not sure what to expect but if he puts his best hoof forward could be thereabouts again for tony bloom

Not much enthusiasm.   Maybe it's just day 1.   Looks a bit meh.

1.20  Talk the Talk.

3.20  Iroko or Hyland but can't decide between them.

4.40  Zurich or Down Memory Lane.   Ditto.

Might do a mad 1×2x2 3-cross & 2x forecasts.   Or not bother.

A few of my mates are big on Hyland.

I'll be scouring the races over the next few days to see if Mr Bloom has any runners at high odds. He had a winner at 100/1 last year (Poniros). Poniros goes again today in the 1600 but current odds with SkyBet are 14/1 and he's no longer a complete unknown.

I've stuck my illicit gains on that seemingly bankable offer earlier.

That Bet365 superboost (1/5 -> 1/1) just makes it look bent as.   Neither hotpot goes in.

Missed out the 1.20.   Just as well as one of my two was the one that tried to tunnel under the final flight.

3.20  Iroko & Hyland

4.40  Down Memory Lane & Zurich

i didnt have a bet so not claiming the victory but one of them potentially needs further and the other has jumping problems - in this case probably fair play to the bookies 😡

Inspired.   Mrs Coates got a bit richer as that offer must have been lumped on.

Always wary when they get boosted ahead of the race. Usually the bookies are up to something.

jdango bay (whatever it was called) needed further last year and still won and plenty dodgy jumpers win too so wouldnt have been a surprise if either had won but you can see the logic in taking them on

Most disappointing Champion Hurdle for a few years. Lossiemouth the best of an extremely average bunch of hurdlers especially when compared with previous champions.

Just a shame that Henderson seems incapable of getting his horses fit for the big day as Sir Gino would have destroyed this lot. Don't get me started on his shambolic campaigning of Constitution Hill

3 winners on Bet365 giving me £2 bet credits so far. Waiting on Backmersackme.  And made the princely return of £1.59 on that Skybet 4acca I posted earlier. Add that to Old Park...retirement still a while a way, yet.
