I wonder if his recovery would  have been quicker if he went on half pay after six months 🤔🤔🤔

Wish we could get the Hoff back fit.

He was probably our best player before he got Injured the last time. It's that long ago.

Would definitely add something but looks like he is done. Finished. 🫤

Definitely. Here's hoping for a big performance tonight and 3 points. 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Coincidentally, my youngest kid plays football in same team and goes swimming on a Monday with Eddie May, Hibs assistants boy. I was saying to the wee lad last night to have a word with his dad as they don't need the 3 points as much as us. He's only 6 right enough so just smiled shyly, but his wife said if wish you luck but.....then I said, you don't mean it and we both laughed 😂😂

Second 49ers player to be shot in the last 18 months, something we dont have to contend with, Leeds United nor Rangers had this issue passed on thus far

Wouldn't have happened if McInnes just played him

Hes done zero in 2 years..hes finished. We are also at a higher level so its even tougher. Not his fault of course but he will be moving on. Players are already identified for the next 2 windows.

Apart from literally keeping us in the cup last year at St Mirren.

I know it's been tough for him and for us wanting him back, but let's not exaggerate.

I think the exaggeration has been more on the likening him to Zidane than there is on the he did nothing front.  He has never been as good for us in games as he has been talked about when injured.

I don't think he's great, another who's been vastly overrated whilst injured. BUT, it is really hard not to feel absolutely gutted for him. Two years of his livelihood stripped from him - hope he kicks on again whether at us or elsewhere.

We need to move on from players bought in the seasons before.

Anyone heard anything about when they might be back?

We've done alright without Devlin (although I'll be happy when he is back) but deffo feel like we've missed Shankland up top.

Haven’t heard officially but my dad thinks he is back training in 2 weeks ….

Getting Devlin back for Aberdeen would be fab. I guess he will be on the bench though if he makes it.

From BBC

  • Team news: Craig Halkett returns to the squad after suspension but Stephen Kingsley, who has been out since December with a groin problem, has suffered a calf injury so will be out for five weeks.

  • Cammy Devlin could be fit for the Aberdeen game at the end of the month but McInnes admits it's "more likely he'll back for Kilmarnock" in mid-March. The "plan" for Lawrence Shankland is a return in "the last week of March".

14th and 17th January Cammy and Lawrence got injured.  So, it looks like the 6-8 weeks was about right, although more like 8 probably, at least for LS.

Just hope they don't have any setbacks.

What an absolute crock of 5h1t concerning Nieuwenhof

He was first name on the Teamsheet and the core reason we romped to 3rd in 23/24

FACT

Yes, he's been injured badly with what has overtaken an ACL as the worst injury to have now; it's the same one Aaron Hickey got when he slipped and done his hamstring away in Spain, he slipped before passing the ball for 2-0 Hearts Vs the mhanks to complete a 2-0 Home and Away double on them

Maybe there's even other injuries brought about by inactivity which is very common, see Halkett & Baningime also

So, you can shove your silly

Spoiler

IMG_4965.jpeg

... hyperbole lazy trope nonsense about him 'mythically' getting better the longer he's out, because I'm sayin' that's just pure h1b5 in this case

Can someone obtain a radar graph from the 3-2 dundee comeback game until the end of that Season, Ta in Advance :smuggy:

As for him being 'finished', people also claimed that against Halkett & Baningime, how's that guff making you feel? :smuggy:

Oh, JamesTown's position on it will be straightforward logic, as will our Club's be; he's got 1 year after EoS, when he gets fit he'll either be a "Keeper", like maybe Baningime will be, we'll see, or we move him on for an amount dictated by his Form at the time

That is all :pimp2:

I really like Stephen Kingsley. I think he's a lovely footballer who's been brilliant for us. I also think his goal at Falkirk is the best scored by a Hearts player this season. Fabulous technique.

This latest injury update is scarcely believable though. To have done his groin during shooting drills and now done his calf during recover process. There's just too many muscle injuries which is particularly unfortunate. Top player but sadly becoming increasingly unavailable for sustained periods.

This places a heavy burden on Milne to maintain fitness and performance levels. McCart can fill in at LB but it's less than ideal.

Yup I was expressing concerns onthe transfer window thread that we should sign a promising or experience left back  - we are very reliant on Milne. Thankfully he has cut down the yellow cards so as long as he stays injury free we should be ok

personally thought the priority should have been signing another target man based on Shanks being out for 8 weeks

We should have enough in the squad to keep us going until Shanks returns , which is going to be a huge boost for the run in . Devlin coming back in a couple of weeks again is a huge boost. So far , we have coped tremendously well without them

Depending on the salary I think he’s still useful to have around the squad, even with the injuries.

Great professional, knows the club, when he can play and is needed he never lets us down.

Him, McCart, and Milne sort our LB and cover for LCB out.

McInnes has been clear there needs to be a core group that understand the league and club and I think keeping (a low-cost) Kingsley for another season or two is probably a great way to have that.

Hopefully he wants to move into coaching…

Considering we were looking to bring in another striker before Shanks got injured makes it even more disappointing.

Don’t think Shanks will be risked on that Killie pitch. Hoping he will be back for Dundee at home on 21st March.

Just hope both him and Cammy don’t break down again on return. Vital we have our best players fit for the split.

Fans are weird.
injuries happen and sadly for some players bad injuries often lead to other muscle injuries as they try to return. As long as they are doing the rehabilitation work asked for them they should have our support. Likewise players that “aren’t good enough”, as long as they aren’t disruptive and give it everything if have if called upon, even if that isn’t good enough, they deserve some support. It’s the lazy wage thieves that deserve the hard time.

As for some signings not getting game time. McInnes and others in numerous interviews have said Bloom has told them to trust the data and the process and that some signings will hit the ground running and some might take 6-18mths but will come good. The issue we have at the moment is the onfield performance is ahead of expectations and we are only six months in so we don’t yet have the benefit of the slow early signing slow burners coming through and playing. That will come.

I reckon based on nothing but hope that Shanks will be back earlier than they are currently implying.

Exactly the same was said about Craig Halkett this time last year

Kingsley has been a fine player for Hearts who has never let the club down, he will leave when we have someone better to replace him

Forget him. Won’t play this season. Real disappointment.

Injuries happen and it sucks, but we seem to have so many of them this season when we are actually playing fewer games.
Thought we were going to lose Halks again late on yesterday but he seemed to recover.

The break after the sheep game will be most welcome.

Get the squad in the sea in Dubai for a bit hydrotherapy, If it’s good enough for race horses.

If we could get Shanks back for the Kilmarnock game that would be brilliant 🤞

If it’s just a grade 1 quad strain then possibly only a 1 week or 2. For him to out the rest of the seaosn it would need to be a grade 3 complete tear of the muscle
