As we move towards getting players back I thought it would be sensible to have a thread to place the latest updates on our injured players and when they are likely to return.

Coming back from injury

Kingsley - Ibrox or Falkirk?

Borchgrevnik - fit?

Devlin - ?

Shanks - ?

Niewenhof - ?

Pollock - ?

Ready to play

Mato - ?

Chesnokov - ?

Halkett - Ibrox (suspended for Hibs)

I think it was an away game to Third Lanark.

14/03 so missing Hibs (H), Rangers (A), Falkirk (H), Aberdeen (H) at a guess.

Aberdeen is 28/02 and then there's the break until Killie on 14/02.

I don't really get why Mato and Chesnokov have not been fit to play, they are both relatively experienced players and have over 50 caps between them, contrast that with Jacob Devaney who St Mirren signed on loan on Monday, he is only 18 and had never even started a senior football game yet they started him against us one day after signing and then started him again 3 days later in the cup away to Airdrie.  Surely these guys can at least be on the bench for the Hibs game.

It’s been covered to death on other threads.

Devaney has been playing regularly for Man Utd under 21’s

I believe Kingsley and Borchgrevink are back training with the team whilst Mato and Chesnokov will be deep into their fitness plan. I reckon all will be in contention for Falkirk, possibly even the rangers game.

Cammy and Shanks were meant to be out for 6-8 weeks so I think worst case scenario would be the Killie game on March 14th.

Hof and Pollock seem to have never ending bad luck so not sure a date can be put on their return.

I have essentially written Hoff off but reading this thread it is very disappointing.  He was really looking like a player a couple of seasons ago but his run of injuries is truly horrendous.

Also quite why McInnes is even bothering to give updates on Borch is beyond me. Clearly not in the picture even if was fit.

There’s probably at least 10 of our squad who’ve no idea who he is.

In his time with us which is about two and a half years he has managed to play 47 games.

He has missed 69 games in this time spending a total of 504 days out injured.

Is Halkett not a 2 game ban....same as Beni?

To be honest even considering Hoff is pointless

He will be emptied as soon as possible, probably back to Australia, definitely a league where the football is slower and with less intensity, the poor boys body continually breaks down

He was un good form in tje AFCON just 3 weeks ago. Is our football too fit/ furious for him?!

It’s becoming an over exaggerated excuse now. Boring

(Not saying our football is intense by the way).

Good point. I'm thinking it's only 1 game as it was a simple trip and not a dangerous tackle like Beni's

I think this is the reason. We play with a mad press at times, they'll see in training how they cope with the pace. They aren't being left out for shits and giggles. If 1 player in the press can't do it, the whole things ruined.

Sure it’s just one. The foul type dictates the ban. Beni was serious foul play so two match.

Honestly, at this point just pay him off.

We're getting absolutely nothing for him, or from him. If an agreement can be reached that saves us a wee bit and gives him the chance to rebuild his career, its a win win.

A damned shame for the laddie but this best thing he could do is go back to Aus and rebuild his career. A physical like like ours sadly just isn't suited to him :(

If it wasn't for the injuries i think he would've been a great player for us. It's a real shame.
