Lord Beni of Gorgie Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Good that we have supporters in 2 stands, makes a big difference I think. Looking forward to a decent atmosphere, maybe a debut at some point and putting the pressure back on the pack

One five Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Always pretty confident in us to win nowadays and nothing has changed, 3 or 4 nil to the famous ♥️
Hertz21 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Lots of chat about Milne picking up an injury on the winter transfer form. If so I would go for one of the following for Saturday: Schwolow Altena - Halkett - Findlay - Kinglsey Kerjota - Beni - Devlin - Kyziridis Shankland - Braga or Schwolow Altena - Halkett - Findlay - Kinglsey Beni - Devlin Magnusson Kyziridis Shankland - Braga (The second formation being a 4-4-2 with Magnusson a bit deeper and tucked in).

Much more likely to be the 2nd of those for an away game. Chesnokov off the bench.

Balders Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Wonder if we may see a 3 at the back for this, Altena gives a better option for right wing back than we have had before. Interesting that was formation in bounce game.

GarryJ-o-s Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Sorry if repeated elsewhere, but I’ve seen some mentions that we had a bounce game this week. Any idea who we played and what the score was?

Hope it's pish though. I've only heard it on here but previous injury rumours this season all turned out to be correct so I'm fearing the worst but hoping the best. Fortunately we have Kingsley and plenty of the transfer window left.

An Archibald Leitch stand as of course was our old main stand. It is "cranked" with the wings of the stand tapering and expanding from the centre. Unusual and quite stylish. Not a goId description. Sort of inverted V? Different anyway. Edited January 8 by Francis Albert

tiger Rudi Posted January 9 Posted January 9 My revised team due to Milne situation. Schwolow Halkett Kent Findlay Beni Devlin Altena Magnusson Kyziridis Braga Shanks We will start with a 3. At some point Kent will make way for Kingsley and we will go 4 at the back with Altena at RB. Chesnokov for Magnusson. Usual grumbles on here about playing with a 3 at all, but I'm sure Del will want to keep Kingsley fresh for bigger challenges. Could be well off it, and I wouldn't necessarily play a 3 myself, but I think DM might.

I don’t think we will play a 3 but if that’s what we’re doing I’d much rather see Steinwender in at RCB with Halks in the middle.

tiger Rudi Posted January 9 Posted January 9 48 minutes ago, Rudi5kaceldream1ng said: Why play with a 3? Is Kingsley injured or something? Injured? Christ I hope not. As the only available left back, his game time will be managed in the same way McInnes manages Halkett's. Kingsley will not play in every game, or play the full 90 mins in every game. It would be a huge risk to think he will. That's not a reflection on his abilities. It's about getting the best out of him and also ensuring he's available for the big games against the likes of Celtic. Without any other cover, playing a 3 might be an alternative. At least until we bring another LB in. Maybe that's why McInnes chose to play a 3 in a bounce game?
tiger Rudi Posted January 9 Posted January 9 1 hour ago, indianajones said: Same opinion here. Steinwender much better than Kent. Normally I'd agree, but Steinwender was truly awful against Hibs and shaky when he came on late against Livi. If and it's a big if, a 3 is used, then you are right, there is nothing wrong with Steinwender, Halkett and Findlay being the 3. If Kent is to be used, he'd be better in the middle, with Halkett at RCB imho.

I have high doubts about that mainly because Dundee play a 4-1-4-1 or potentially a 4-4-2 with Murray back so a good chance to go man for man
Heartofhearts Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Wonder if match will go ahead? Dundee FC has a history of not ensuring safety measures so matches can take place..as Rangers will remember! Met Office has issued a yellow warning for snow/ice on Sunday 2am until 3pm for Dundee. Guess time will tell!

Jacques de Gauthier Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Every game is a cup final from here on in. Best team, no resting players or experiments. Simple formation, no square pegs in round holes. Full backs defend first, support wingers second. Midfield funnel ball to creative players early and often. Cover more ground, take more shots and take no chances at the back.
