Diadora Van Basten Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Can we do it on a cold wet Sunday in Dundee in January. Its not going to be pretty today.

Every game from here on is about bottle and confidence. I still think that the OF think they are going to be one and two at the end of the season and it is up to us to keep winning and make them think again. I think at the end of the day that is the difference between the OF and other teams in the league, if any of the two of them had a six point lead at this stage of the season they would already be planning their celebrations.

Yep and we as fans are nervous in tight games. Where as old firm fans would be confident as they have been there countless times. And those nerves feed down from the stands to the players and the they can feel the nerves . Edited January 11 by GBJambo
McNelly15 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Taking 3 points away would be very handy today along with a few goals and none conceded as teams below us have sneaked up in this regard!
indianajones Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Can't see anything about today's game being tight under normal circumstances. The weather is a bit of a leveller though. Tricky conditions.
Craig_ Posted January 11 Posted January 11 We've had a couple of great performances in minging conditions recently, so not overly concerned.

Penrices left boot Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Score first and we will beat them comfortably. Time to start taking more of our chances. 0-3 today, confident we'll score first and boss the game.

Tynecastle Valhalla Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Let’s get two goals in the first half and then we can relax
E3OBE Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Would love to see us back to being ruthless today. Doesn’t need to be a 90 minute performance, just a good period where we go up the gears and kill it.

I'm notice the difference in mentality in performances teams put in against them as opposed to us.Games are far more intense against us than they seem to muster against the Old Firm.
The Wrinkly Ninja Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Tricky but three points a must. Chesnokov has to start. No point in him coming on as Altena is going off. The pair of them need to play together.
basscom Posted January 11 Posted January 11 About to leave for Dundee. Time to lay down another marker…
Taffin Posted January 11 Posted January 11 (edited) 1-4. Reckon we score early and fail to build on it, a defensive bungle will see them equalise, it gets nervy until about 50 mins. We make 3 changes and cruise away with it. Edited January 11 by Taffin
Jingle Bells Posted January 11 Posted January 11 I'm with Ramrod who mentioned he would like to see more of Shankland in the opposition Penalty Box. That should be feasible with the amount of attacking talent that's been brought in.

I get what you're saying, but you can't start someone in a game like this who hasn't played since, what is it, November? Let him come on for the last half an hour, when their fullback is tired, and do his stuff.
All roads lead to Gorgie Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Every game is a test of our resolve now and today will be one of the hardest with Dundee gaining in confidence. I wouldn't read anything into to past games with them, this is now and we need to get back to clinical finishing and not let the opposition gain any foothold in midfield whatsoever! Let's get this done Hearts !
Skacelsid Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Pressley will have studied the Easter Road game, we must not have a first half like that, where our front players were having to retreat into our own half to try and get some possession as there was no supply to them. Hibs had a high press and we just sat deep and invited it. We must come out traps and take the game to them at every opportunity. Our front players can be/are a handful but they need the ball.
OBE Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Shame that Aberdeen, Dundee X2 and h1b5 ain't up to or just below our gravy, could've made in less stressful for us if they were. Loving agents, Motherwell/Falkirk though! ♥️

They are on a good run, won their last 3 and easily beat Celtic up there earlier. Will be a very tough game, irrespective of the weather and we could easily drop points.
King prawn Posted January 11 Posted January 11 I wonder how we'll line up. Too early for: Schwolow Altena Halkett Findlay Kingsley Baningime Magnusson Devlin Chesnekov Shankland Kyziridis ? Or maybe Braga up top with Shankland but that seems like we're putting a lot on Beni and Devlin in the middle.

Unless they change it to worry about us...then wings look to be key.

There are no easy fixtures this season, and being at the top, everyone wants our scalp. If we can get out of dodge with three points I’ll be delighted.

John Findlay Posted January 11 Posted January 11 As with Livingston. Priority is the Three points. Goal difference is a bonus. Points on the board is always priority.

If we are actually on it from the get go and go 2-0 up in early in a game it will be interesting to see if we have that same ruthlessness that Celtic had yesterday (Rangers don’t have it imo).
Gorgie Garcon Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Three points and down the road. Could not give a bollocks how.

We’re a scalp and a target now so teams raise their game against us. Got to get used to it. Nothing is easy.
AC Mallin_51 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Cmon Hearts just win. Pile pressure on Rangers to win at Aberdeen. We must do everything to maintain that 6+ point gap. Anything less than that just feels far too close for comfort imo, having that breathing room will allow us to drop the shoulders a bit and play with less nerves

EIEIO Posted January 11 Posted January 11 A win by any margin would be good. A win by a couple of goals would build the team's and fans confidence and put pressure on the Huns to win at Pittodrie(sadly they probably will but, you never know).

Still we struggled against Livingston for large parts of the 2nd half at home thus we can tuck away any over confidence or complacency. No easy games in this league. We have far better players though, that's obvious. Let's not have a repeat of the aberdeen away game performance levels as there are several similar factors today. Unleash the chesnokov.
Drylaw Hearts Posted January 11 Posted January 11 It would be a real confidence booster to win this by a few goals……our next 2 games are against Bottom 4 clubs and it’s time we gave a team a doing.
Gordons left glove Posted January 11 Posted January 11 I think it will be a pretty depressing game but we'll get 3 pts regardless

GBJambo Posted January 11 Posted January 11 Not too bad in Dundee . Light rain not much wind and not as cold as has been
Lambert Simnel Posted January 11 Posted January 11 (edited) Suspect (and hope!) we're too good for Dundee. But wouldn't be surprised with a narrow 2-1 win with all the usual nail biting in the last 10 minutes. I'd settle for that tbh. Edited January 11 by Lambert Simnel
Scott980612 Posted January 11 Posted January 11 3 points - don’t care how we get them I’ll say 0-1. Halkett or Findlay from a corner / free kick

Jeremy Goss Posted January 11 Posted January 11 As long as it’s not windy then conditions will be fine
