Good news for you though. Yet another chance to sit on your high horse and look down your nose at folk who don’t agree with you

Kabore was poor, being a striker and never converted two great chances at least.

Equatorial Guinea doing what Equatorial Guinea always do. Fair play to them, both teams missing players, it was always going to be a scrappy game. Great header its always going to take something like that to score against this keeper.

Should be a very familiar feeling for you.

Ah well, Landry will be coming home sooner rather than later then!

Ach well. Kabore won’t start again and he’ll be back in the country before the Livi game. Not that he’ll be starting for us anytime soon but a chance to really push himself and catch the eye from the bench

4 of the 3rd placed teams go through so as long as they beat Sudan they'll have a decent chance of progressing to the knockouts.

Based on today though them beating Sudan ain't a given!

If it wasn’t a goal it was a pen. 5 to go at least.

I suppose it depends on what results the African overlords decide they want each game.

Go on the Faso’s. 2-1 some turnaround

Happy for the boy Kabore, suspect hell be on the bench next game however

What a turnaround. Nowhere near the huge numbers they took to Ivory Coast but still a good support for Burkina Faso there

Hmmm He might have to hang around a while longer

Kabore did well as the number 9. Close when defender just got in front of him.

But then missed a sitter. 50/50 anyway in this squad.

Left it a bit late. But it's all money at the end of the day.

Or 98th minute.

Kabore didn't get enough service. They looked for their superstars either side of him most times - understandable tbh.

Thought he did ok. Held it up well at times and tried to get involved.

I turned it off at 1-1 thinking that was that!

I’ll keep up with their next games on Flashscores I think. Not sitting through another game of that standard 😂

Folk slag women’s football as well.

2-1 prediction in the bag 😊

Watching it unfold is something else 😂 what a game.  Drama, tensions and celebrations.

Yeah, at one point I thought they should sack the BF manager 😆 he should definitely stay on.

It was strange because there was some high value players and players at decent level European clubs on the pitch. The atmosphere and the commentary didn’t help either and the only player I switched it on for did little of note. Hard watching a game like that when you don’t really have a dog in the race

I see Zidane's lad is in goal for Algeria, I dare say he chose Algeria over France. 🤔

Red card Sudan now too.

Going to be a long 2nd half for them.

He played for France at youth level but isn’t good enough to play for the National team so picked his dad’s country of birth.

Dunfermline's Alfons Amade starts for Mozambique alongside Catamo of Sporting Lisbon and Reinildo of Atletico Madrid. Strange how he's ended up at Dunfermline given he was meant to be a big prospect in Belgium and Germany

Ivory Coast huff and puff to a 1-0 win over Mozambique

On reflection I think our man Kabore will keep his place in the team.

He led the line well as centre forward and was a nuisance. His miss second half was the least bad of several bad misses. But overall, actually Burkina Faso played okay, controlling the midfield and playing several nice passing moves. If you consider also the chances created it was a good day. A very good late comeback too.

So onwards and upwards.

Unconvincing 1-0 win for Cameroon over Gabon

Kabore did OK. Could have done better with a couple of opportunities that came his way, but it was infuriating how their wide forwards consistently failed to cut the back for their colleagues when breaking into the box. In other words, Kabore didn’t really get much decent service, despite being taking up some good positions.

I think he has something to offer whether he starts, or comes on as an impact sub. Equatorial Guinea were very negative in their outlook and their plan to strangle the game very nearly worked. Be interesting to see how Kabore gets on against a team that plays a more open style.

Entertaining 1-1 draw between Angola and Zimbabwe.

The result probably eliminates both teams from the contest, as they both lost their opening games and face Egypt and South Africa in their final games, respectively.

Both teams were going for it all game and it was end to end stuff.

Egypt vs South Africa

A trailing hand brushes Salah in the face, he goes down, VAR takes about half an hour to call the ref to the screen, Egypt penalty awarded and scored.

Egypt player then makes a rash challenge and receives a 2nd yellow, sparking a pagger on the touchline between the coaching staff of both teams.

HT 1-0 Egypt but Egypt down to 10.

At first I thought no way on penalty but he impeded Salah.

Soft .

Both yellows were correct.

Egypt (and Ivory Coast) are three OF of the AFCON and regularly have got refereeing decisions over the years….

Big Uche has just equalised with a header for Uganda against Tanzania, not long after coming on as a sub.
