However, the script for the finale, titled "Requiem," was written and later brought to life through official audio dramas and fan animations. The climax of the story features these key developments: Venger's Redemption: The heroes discover that the evil wizard Venger is actually the corrupted son of the Dungeon Master. The Dungeon Master's elaborate trials throughout the series were designed as a test to redeem Venger and lift his curse. The Final Choice: By destroying a force of pure evil, the children succeed in redeeming Venger. With the curse lifted, Dungeon Master opens a portal for the kids to return to their world. The Open Ending: Dungeon Master gives the children a choice: they can return home safely to Earth, or they can stay behind to continue fighting evil in the realm.

Daktari Posted June 1 Posted June 1 Bit left field, but my 70's childhood was when I developed a life long love of Laurel and Hardy. They used to show their short films during school holidays, at weekends and early evenings on BBC2 I think. Simple humour that appealed to me at that age, Saps at Sea, Music Box, Laughing Gravy etc, etc.... brilliant stuff.

They used to open up a hall at our Primary School on Saturday mornings during the summer holidays and show a British Foundation Film. They all seem to feature a fecking hot air balloon

WorldChampions1902 Posted June 3 Posted June 3 “The Singing Ringing Tree” used to regularly appear on the TV circuit. Obviously based on some unknown fairy tale and never quite understood what it was about. It was a cheap budget show, which looked like it was shot in a Poundland Blue Peter studio and came with subtitles or voiceovers IIRC?

I enjoyed this some of the actors and actresses were brilliant at telling the stories. The late Bernard Cribbens being one of my personal favourites. Captain Scarlett and the Mysterons. I enjoyed this more than Stingray, Fireball XL5, Thunderbirds and Joe 90. Blue Peter. When Valerie Singleton, John Noakes, and Peter Purves were the presenters. John Noakes doing daredevil stuff like sky diving, and climbing Nelson's column without wearing are hard hat or safety harness. How. Just found this so educational and entertaining. We never had a telly until I was 12 yrs old. So I suppose the stuff for kids back then would the likes of "Joe 90"
Jamstomorrow Posted June 3 Posted June 3 Who can forget TONIGHT on BBC, Such stalwarts as Cliff Michelmore, Derek Hart, Geoff Johnson Smth, Alan Whicker, Macdonald Hastings, Fyfe Robertson, various entertainers. Who remembers Cy Grant, Robin Hall and Jimmie MacGregor? Pure cultyer for a growing boy.

OnlyTheLonely Posted June 4 Posted June 4 I loved Branded, starring Chuck Connors. The opening scene of every episode was epic.

After some kind of episode upsetting or endangering the locals. Land slides on the line, boulders on the line Will people get off the line before Casey and his train arrives. Seemed to be about reminding Americans it was alway good to be helpful and good fine upstanding citizens. Always enjoyable when I watched it at that age.
Australis Posted June 4 Posted June 4 (edited) Follyfoot. Theme sung by a band called the Settlers. Theme called the lightening tree. Edited June 4 by Australis
XB52 Posted June 4 Posted June 4 My wife brought an old video tape of Watch with Mother to show the kids when I was out in Saudi. They couldn't stop laughing at the garbage we actually watched.

martoon Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Watched it every morning during school holidays then took the "switch off...do something less boring instead" advice and was out the rest of the day. 10am-10pm in the height of the summer holidays. Popped home to get fed about once a day then straight back oot again. Thank goodness my childhood was in the 1970's and early '80's. A freedom that kids just don't experience now, I believe.

It was made in the former East Germany and was based on a Brothers Grimm fairy tale, which is why it’s a bit dark at times. There was indeed a voiceover, probably to save money on subtitles. The haughty Princess is taught some harsh life lessons by the evil dwarf in order for her to become a bit more humble and caring. A morality tale really. I have it on DVD!
