I know that some of these will have been mentioned, but it feels to me like the same  programmes were on BBC every Saturday morning through the school summer holidays, namely The Banana Splits, The Flashing Blade and Robinson Crusoe. I can still remember the lyrics of theme tunes, content specific scenes etc, so I must have watched it more then once. Were broadcast budgets really that tight?

There’s one that the theme tune regularly pops into my head but I can’t actually remember anything about the show itself.
Barnaby The Bear.

Barnaby the bear's my name, never call me Jack or James, I will sing my way to fame, Barnaby the bear's my name, birds taught me to sing, when they took me to their king, they taught me to fly, way up in the sky so high, so high so high's high......

Never liked it, but why on earth can i remember that 50 odd years later?

Marine Boy - another theme tune ear worm.... I nearly drowned trying out the theory that chewing gum could let you breathe under water....

Left field  - Laurel and Hardy. The old original classic black and white short movies 'Laughing Gravy', 'Saps at Sea', 'The Music Box' etc..... comedy really appealed to the young me.

Another oldie - the original, classic Tom and Jerry cartoons. Gratuitous violence and casual racism but I loved them. Likewise the original Bugs Bunny, Road Runner etc.

Yes, he did. A very distinctive voice did Scatman Crothers.

TUGS, by the same folk who did Thomas the Tank Engine I think, was superb and had the best theme tune of the late 80s. That saxophone!

Animals of Farthing Wood was my favourite as a 6 year old but looking back it was so unbelievably dark for a CBBC cartoon. I wonder how many kids were traumatised by some of those death scenes?!

Thankfully, no. The DVD would be a good idea for a present for any kids you don't like though...

This programme actually gave me weeks of nightmares,  for some reason.  I wasn't frightened when i watched it but the scene at about 16mins in must've stuck in my subconscious. I still remember the nightmares over 40yrs later.

Anyone remember The Impossibles - a cartoon pop band who were also superheroes - Coil-Man, Fluid-Man and Multi-Man?

I used to watch far too much TV 😆 a lot of the stuff mentioned already.   Some not mentioned.   Centurions, Terrahawks and one I've just recently been learning more about The Water Margin.

The Dungeons and Dragons does have an ending episode.   I decided to find out a few years ago.

Some boring stuff I used to watch on a Sunday tea time All creatures Great and Small and of course Ski Sunday.   Mostly just for the Theme tunes.

Can't beat a good intro or theme tune.

Used to love Follyfoot. Don't think there was an episode went by when the lassie wasn't greeting her eyes out about something. Had the great Desmond Llewellyn in it too.

Brilliant episode.

I was a really big fan of The Man From UNCLE, was given a box set for Christmas and watching an episode through adult eyes saw how dreadful it really was.

Very good point. Watching childhood shows as an adult , through a more intelligent, mature  and critical lens.  I recently briefly watched an episode of

“ hart to hart “ which I loved as a kid . Load of 💩
