tartofmidlothian Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Another tough match when it comes, but then so have they all been. A wee bit of extra spice with the McInnes thing too. Going by the Hibs match it's time to shake it up again, I'd pick this team and bring Borchgrevink and Ageu on for the last half hour if possible. Unless they're fit and raring to go, in that case Steinwender and McEntee would drop out. Schwolow Steinwender - Halkett - Findlay - Milne Kerjota - Devlin - McEntee - Kyziridis Shankland - Braga
Captain Sausage Posted October 5 Posted October 5 I think we will see changes, but I’d expect Ageu and Borchgrevink in. Either 4-4-2: Scholow Borch Halkett Findlay Milne Kerjota Devlin Ageu Kyziridis Braga Shankland or 4-3-3: Schwolow Borch Halkett Findlay Milne Devlin Ageu McEntee Kerjota/Braga Shankland Kyziridis
TheBigO Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Schwolow Borch Halks Findlay Milne McEntee Beni Ageu Kyzi Braga Shanks Easily becomes 433 but also with high fullbacks can become almost a 235 in possession which might be needed. Oisin with brief to tuck in but also get in the box on the end of things. Ageu box to box, Beni hold it all together. Cam only on bench as just back from N America on int duty
InternationalJambo Posted October 5 Posted October 5 They are flying under the radar a wee bit. We will need to be on it for this.
BigStein Posted October 5 Posted October 5 I’m sure someone mentioned Cammy would miss this game due to being with Australia, is that true or just nonsense?

Schwolow Steinwender - Halkett - Findlay - Milne Kerjota - Devlin - McEntee - Kyziridis Shankland - Braga I really like this team - I think you've cracked it in the first post tbh For me, our midfield needs to be more dynamic. Beni - as much as we love him, isn't forward thinking enough. And whilst, strictly speaking that isn't his job, in a midfield 2, we need dynamism and at least the willingness to try something which may not come off. Devlin although an inferior footballer, is much braver on the ball than Beni, and much more likely to take on a shot when the moment demands it, or play the risky forward pass. Similarly, I think McEntee has a better range of passing than Beni, and again, is going to see the forward pass. I think Steinwender gives us a solid back 4, and adds to our threat at set pieces. I think this formation and player selection lends itself to giving Elton, Kabore, Wilson, Ageu and Borch the opportunity to make an impact form the bench. God. Our depth is insane.
Hømme Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Possibly the toughest match at this moment in time. Reminder though, we are better than them in every department and should be going home with three points. Nice break for the players to refresh and work on things beforehand though.
hmfc1984 Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Every match will be tough for us. Scottish football generally hates two things: - the old firm - any team doing well challenging the old firm Every team will up their game against us
Uncle Buck Posted October 5 Posted October 5 Schwolow Steinwender Halkett Findlay Milne Kerjota McEntee Beni Kyziridis Shankland Braga With Devlin being away I’d imagine he’ll be on the bench and I’d put Milne back as Kerjota deserves a start. Will be a tough game but I’ll go with a hard fought 2-1 victory. Braga to get back amongst the goals.

1971fozzy Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Roared on by a huge hearts crowd should help. 3 points would be tremendous with the Celtic game up next. Looking forward to going , always a good day out

DxB Hearts Posted October 6 Posted October 6 (edited) Another break is frustrating but gives the likes of McEntee, Borch, Kent, and Ageu time to get fully fit - add in a bounce game that'll no doubt give Magnusson, Kerjota and Kabore more game time and we should be in a great place. Tough game, they've had two really good results against St Mirren and Dundee United so will also be confident. Schwolow Borch Halkett Findlay Kingsley Ageu Devlin Milne Kyzi Braga Shanks Don't think McInnes will make massive changes and giving Borch a little more protection with Milne ahead of him is something he'll think about, even though I think we'd all be keen to see Kerjota get the start. If fit Ageu starts. Edited October 6 by DxB Hearts
Bindy Badgy Posted October 6 Posted October 6 It's going to be a tough match. We can't afford to have another crap first half so hopefully we're on it from the start. We'll have a much better idea of where we are after the next two games.
JamboJoker98 Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Tough match I think, Kilmarnock doing well this season. Abomination of a pitch I don't think we'll risk Ageu, maybe Borch but I don't think so given he's not had a sniff of the bench even so will need minutes. Wouldn't be surprised to see the same lineup again, maybe Kingsley out for Milne and Kerjota to start RW
Jacques de Gauthier Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Play Kabangu and just tell him it's a bounce match.
Haken Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Is the Kilmarnock playing surface a concern in terms of our players who are on the verge of comebacks? I guess McInnes will know better than any of us and take that into account. A tough but winnable game.
Halliphax Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Game will be a slog but will be some confidence boost to get three points on a pitch like that in a time like this
El Prez Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Think Braga will be benched in place of Elton for this one. Can see Magnússon starting, & possibly Kerjota. Kabore on the bench too. The kind of game you'll take a 1 nil win all day.

He definitely earned a start at the weekend, but I think we'll see Magnusson getting a bit longer off the bench over the next few games. Didn't Kabore's preseason basically start when we signed him back in early August? The next time we see him he'll probably be replacing Shanks or Braga in the 90th minute, just to give him a taste. 1-0 would be perfect, three more points from a difficult game and yet another shutout.
Jambo92 Posted October 6 Posted October 6 The data is quite interesting for them, very low possession stats in almost every game this season and very low passes completed and very low xG. Their points return is beating the analytics but the main data point is the league table! Like there back 5 in defence and 2 strikers up top. Could be similar systems if we match them up. Suspect it will be a long slog of a game where we will need urgency for the off!

SIWYPod Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Whilst I agree with the thought of a slight level of rotation to bring Borchgrevink and potentially Ageu back in to the picture (the latter only if 100% fit of course). I don't think McEntee/Milne have done much wrong to be displaced on the right hand side - albeit Borchgrevink is natural over there. Ageu is a tough one - we're all eager to see what he's got to offer based off a short cameo v Livi - but again the midfield has been ticking along just fine in his absence (however I do agree with the midfield 2 potentially being him next to one or Cammy/Beni in order to provide that more cutting edge forward movement from the middle. I think McInnes has hit on something that works - which explains why he's stuck with the same in form 11 the last 3 games, I can't see him making many changes for what should be a very tough game against a side that themselves appear to have hit on a winning formula. In short - go full strength - cannot underestimate anyone as has been said on this thread already, teams are desperate for our wheels to come falling off, let's not allow that to happen just yet.
Lord Beni of Gorgie Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Only been beaten by Celtics 12th man, so difficult
McNelly15 Posted October 6 Posted October 6 I wouldn't be changing a winning team that's not conceding goals. Unless someone gets a knock. Definitely wouldn't be changing the backline !

He played on artificial surfaces in Norway so very comfortable (OK Killie's pitch is a stretch but you know what I mean) and proved this when he came on in league cup - goal and assist for Wilson in no time
poultry Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Killie are a tough team to break down, athletic, strong, and big. We probably will have to grind them down. Do that we win.
Gorgiewave Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Deckers looks like he could outmuscle our defence. Not letting him near the ball would be ideal.

I really hope we see Borchgrevink at last and we're bound to see Kabangu again, he's ahead of Wilson and Kabore as third choice striker right now.
vegas-voss Posted October 7 Posted October 7 Another hard game but there should be a lot more space to play football than having to get past the back 8 that Hibs had.1-2 Hearts
jambo Dunc Posted October 7 Posted October 7 (edited) Anyone know any decent pubs to go to before hand? Got a bus running full of jambos trying to find the best place to go before the game Edited October 7 by jambo Dunc
Lone Striker Posted October 7 Posted October 7 I'd expect Del & his coaches will give some inside info to our defenders about the Killie danger men. Stuart Findlay too. Watson has caught the eye on TV highlights.
Midloth_Iain Posted October 12 Posted October 12 Resurrected from page 3, now that the international break is almost over ....
Hearts.1874. Posted October 12 Posted October 12 start with the same team as previous games and as soon as we are (hopefully) 2 up, we can bring on kerjota, kabore, magnusson and ageu - if fit! Killie definitely have flew under the radar a bit and seem very well organised so will be a tough game.
