Even when he was injured he was always our best defender. We needed him back so bad. And he’s back. I pray to god he stays fit because he makes us such a better team. A cross comes into our box and it’s like his head has a magnet for the ball. He just wins headers all the time. Over and over and over. In Scottish Football, that is what you need. Love Halks. Well played big man. Just keep doing what you're doing. Happy to stand up and say I got it completely wrong……..I think there was a thread about a replacement captain for Shankland, Halketts name was brought up and it was a big no from me based on his injury prone history. So, my hat is currently in the oven at 180 degrees and soaked in gravy, I’ll be eating said hat at about 3pm.

Looks pretty lean.

You’re maybe right actually though, he wasn’t playing before signing for hibs. Don’t get me wrong Clarke frustrates me immensely…Dykes ffs…Bowie ffs… His loyalty will ultimately be his undoing.

Halkett had 21 appearances as well but started 16 times. 1,503 minutes total playing time.

boag1874 Posted October 6 Posted October 6 For me it's not even a question of Hanley v Halkett atm because Hanley did really well in the last camp which was only a few weeks ago, plus he's playing regularly now & the Hibs fans seem to think he's doing well (I wouldn't know as I don't tend to watch them unless we're playing them or the odd game when they're on the telly). The big question mark for me is how tf he can be picking Souttar over Halkett - Souttar is a part of a pretty dire Rangers defence & by all accounts hasn't been near his best this season.

Very good point. Although I guess Souttar's playing regularly in Europe, so maybe Clarke likes that range of experience.
SIWYPod Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Halkett has been sensational since the start of the season. The fact he chose to stay at home over the summer break and work on his fitness shows just how much of a model professional he is. Delighted he appears to be over the injury issues that have plagued him for such a long time, he's proving to be the leader at the back we need(which considering the majority of players around him are new recruits, is huge). An amazing pro, and a top guy by all accounts - if I could have picked anyone to score the winner in that style it would be him.

Aussie Jambo Posted October 6 Posted October 6 Doesn’t this relate to the last game when Wiggy did it to us when he scored? I remember him doing it and thinking you arsehole. I was waiting for it to be done but it was too far to run after he scored. He did it at the end of the game. Quality. GIRFUY. 🖕

After everything he’s been through with injuries the past 3 seasons he deserves this more than anyone. Hopefully he gets the chance to represent Scotland in the coming months after being on track before his big knee injury
