Big John Colquhoun Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Sounds like a good player 👌🏻 Can’t wait for McInnes to bring him and Kyzi off the bench to help us chase games.

Peakybunnet Posted September 6 Posted September 6 Thought the goalkeeper Anarbekov was brilliant. Only 21 as well brought in because first choice was injured

N Lincs Jambo Posted September 7 Posted September 7 Chesnokov on the bench for Kazakhstan tonight against Belgium. Kenzhebek starts.

BackOfTheNet Posted September 7 Posted September 7 I see he came on at half time when they were 2-0 down but Belgium how 4-0 up. So assuming he’s had little to do but chase back and defend.

mr fox Posted September 8 Posted September 8 Just watched his highlights boy he looks superb. With him Kyzi Ageu I would be tempted with a 4231 and Braga up top. There is a lot of pace here.

But he has other attributes, if ever getting back on song again (even though we were promised by many on here that after he signed his new contract then the old LS would be back firing on all cylinders)
jamboinglasgow Posted September 19 Posted September 19 Had a look as wondering how his side were doing and since the window closed they have lost both of their league matches, one against the team at the bottom of the league, the other today against title rivals Astana, where they lost 3-2. Chesnokov scored the first goal of the match where he pounced on a loose ball in a free kick after the keeper made a save. With 4 games left in the league, Tobol are 6 points off Astana who are first but Tobol have a game in hand. Second place Kairat are 5 points ahead having played the same number of games as Tobol. So sadly its looking unlikely Chesney will get a league title before joining us.

Serge Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Full match video here for Chesney watchers. He scored in the first minute, got fouled for their penalty and seemed to be playing as a central striker. Tobol player destroyed any chances of them winning the league by doing an Ivan Sproule style stamp on an opponent after 33 minutes when 2-1 up.

Having loosely followed the league for the last couple of months it feels like there's a red card in every game. Chesnokov has has taken plenty of kicks from the bits and pieces I saw of him as well. I've come round to the idea that he's better off starting in January anyway. Looks like the goals and assists have tailed off a bit recently and we'd probably be asking a lot for him to be coming in at the end of his season and stay fit and on form for the next 8 months.

keifrb Posted September 21 Posted September 21 FC Tobal last league game looks like it's the 28th October, with the cup final played on the 4th October (cheers Google). If that's correct, and after a we'll deserved break, you would assume he'd be match fit, with all the necessary paperwork completed for the January transfer window. A debut at home v Livingston!

He probably wont be able to take a break till after 15th Novemeber as that is Kazakhstans last international game. But if given a month off, then build up fitness from then, that should be enough. As others say, I wonder if he can get a work permit to come over and train in December, and if he can play as a trialist in bounce games.

Plus we have Livvy 3rd Jan then Dundee 10th then nowt until Celtic on 25th. So he can ease in to an extent even in Jan. Not sure if that missing weekend is start of Scottish Cup? If so a wee lower league tie would be perfect.

One for the older guys but I always remember Paull Elliott coming to celtic and being absolutely atrocious for his first 6 months but boy what a defender after that when he got the pace of the game Look at Rankers under Martin too many want an eternity on the baw up here and their no getting it.

If he starts training on the 8th or 15th of December he'll have had 3 or 4 full weeks off since his last game (assuming he's in the Kazakhstan squad).
