I say it was a sitter at the time but thankfully the miss made no difference as the Gorgie boys still came out on top 😎
davemclaren Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Early days for him...minutes in his legs...jumpers for goalposts...
pettigrewsstylist Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Good start. Like to see him on a bigger patch with space to burn into.
jonnyinfo Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Big up to the Kyby poster who is clearly the barber for the hearts team and dropped some ITK info about Chesney starting today 😁 Chesney also had a very good game ☺️
ELITHEDUG Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Give him a few games and I think he will get better every week. You can see there is a proper footballer in there.
AlimOzturk Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Has the physical side already and doesn’t seem to mind tracking back. Going to be an excellent addition once he fully settles in
davie1980 Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Some positive signs in there. Few nice touches but coming in to that fixture and the nature of the game wasn't set up for a great performance. But I was quite impressed with his willingness to get stuck in. Feel like the skill and pace and creativity will be seen in other games. But it's good to see another attacking player not afraid to put a foot in, work hard and fight for the ball. And his fitness will obviously improve with game time

And his fitness will obviously improve with game time Yeah, a derby is a very different kind of game and a new player can, if they are not careful, look out of it. Its not a game for real skill its more a battle. Chesnokov impressed me a lot that he was not afraid to get stuck in and its a way to get the fans to be on your side. I did think he had nice touches and his fitness will improve week on week. I do agree that we will see more of his skillful side in other games. With him and Mato up to speed it allows us to play 4-4-2 and Kyzi on the left provides a real headache for teams.
Byyy The Light Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Was blowing out his hoop after 15 mins. He’ll come good but that would’ve been an eye opener for him tonight. He struggled.
Cruyff Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Shouldn't have started. Lad isn't fit or sharp enough and the SPL is a different tempo. That said, I thought he did alright. There's definitely a footballer there. Will need time.
tiger Rudi Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Liked what I saw. Yes he should have started. Glad he did. Thats a game under his belt, how long are we going to wait to give the new guys time on the pitch? Thought he done well, miss aside. He will only get better. Gets stuck in that's for sure and has a bit of pace. He will come good and away from the chaos of a Derby, we might just see a player that can turn a game in our favour with something special.

This Everyone is desperate to see guys like him, Ageu and Mato They're not going to be the best player on the park in their first start. We need to get them involved if we ever want to see them up to full speed. We got away with a win in a game where nobody got full marks and Chesney was no worse than most of the players on the pitch but he'll be in a better place for having a full game under his belt. Just need to get more minutes for Mato so we can give Kyzi some well needed rest, whether that's rotating out of the team or getting a decent break with a well timed substitution

Hømme Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Thought he did really well in the main. It's not a fixture that quality ever shines through but he has shown he can graft which is equally as pleasing

On his performance, I thought he did fine considering the intensity of the game. When he settles and gets up to speed he'll be a key player.
south morocco Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Great to finally see him get a start in a difficult fixture. Think he’s another who, in time will be a great player for us. Would like to see him start at Ibrox and let him run at them unlike last night which was a bit frantic as you’d expect.

amadjambo Posted February 11 Posted February 11 I thought he looked really good first half, clearly a very intelligent player with a nice bit of dig about him. Once he gets match fit and builds up his confidence he’ll be a real threat.

AndyNic Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Needs time to adjust to the pace of the Scottish game. Didn't shirk away and got stuck in. He'll be a great addition for us and will play his part in the run in. Mind his first appearance he won a penalty for us!
AlimOzturk Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Think he and Kerjota will be our main wingers next season. Can see Kyzi going for big bucks.
Batistuta9 Posted February 11 Posted February 11 (edited) Thought he done alright. Never set the heather alight by any means but very aggressive and looks like he'll be a handful once he's up to speed. Wasn't a sitter either. Maybe should have used his right foot, but the momentum might have taken him off the pitch and into the boards for a sore one in those conditions. Edited February 11 by Batistuta9

Chesnokov and Kerjota on the right, Mato and McPake on the left. Think with them all bedded in by the summer (obviously McPake coming in with experience of Scottish football) they will be a cracking set of wingers.

Jamb04life Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Thought he did ok and looked sharp enough. The good thing with him and Kyzi is that when things aren’t going their way or they aren’t getting much of the ball, then they are prepared to put a shift in. Gone are the days we have a players like Barrie McKay pulling out of tackles and jogging back

leith_dude Posted February 11 Posted February 11 You could see he has quality in the limited touches he had. The dummy right at the start was quality as well. Great for him to get some minutes and improve his fitness. Hope he starts on Sunday.
Drylaw Hearts Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Glad to see him getting some real game time under his belt……but it’s a tough match to make any judgement on his abilities. He kept Cadden quiet which is a positive but we need to find out his strengths and play to them to show his attacking attributes. He’ll get more space at Ibrox if he starts.

Can see Kyzi going for big bucks. not on the basis of the last few appearances. I thought he was wasteful and tried to do too much himself. balls whipped into the box are always dangerous (especially when our number 9 Kabore is an out and out penalty box striker) and he refused to do that.
Dick Dastardly Posted February 15 Posted February 15 (edited) Pretty poor again today. I hadn't watched him play before he joined us but was expecting more from all the talk about him. Hopefully he can get up to speed soon and show us the player we were expecting Edited February 15 by Dick Dastardly
Spellczech Posted February 15 Posted February 15 I think he'll come good - he isn't short of heart. Gets stuck in. It will come for him as he adapts.
CAI Posted February 15 Posted February 15 He's getting bullied in the Scottish league. Not sure if he has the pace and skill to make up for that.
siegementality Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Just now, CAI said: He's getting bullied in the Scottish league. Not sure if he has the pace and skill to make up for that. "Getting bullied". What utter pish. His strength and power have actually been quite impressive. He gets stuck right in. What we haven't seen from him is anything going forward.
ramrod Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Early days but he has shown absolutely nothing of quality to date, not even a glimmer.

Jambos1983 Posted February 15 Posted February 15 2 tough games as far as your first 2 starts in scottish football go. I think he'll get better and better in the next month in the games we control more

Valois No1 Posted February 15 Posted February 15 Very poor so far. I have seen not a thing that involved real quality.
