He deserves a fair crack.

I did not not want him but must say he makes all the right noises.

One surprise is that he seems to favour a long ball upfield for quick transition but without a big ugly centre forward with presence we have to rely on the second ball: some you win, some you lose.

Im not convinced by him. Never wanted him as manager.  Will give him full backing and hope to be proved wrong

Still would be manager of Aberdeen if Stuart Milne had stayed in charge.

Looked like blue chinos and a navy blue light knitted polo. While his opposite number sweated his ginger baws off in a club cagoule zipped up to the top.

Always wanted him as manager.  Suave guy and top shagger.

I think he'll get us into 3rd consistently and maybe win a cup but it won't be pretty.  We'll be hard to beat, particularly at Tynie.

Too early to make any kind of judgement.

As others have said he says the right things and comes over really well. Looks happy etc.

But when the music stops it will be about how we play, derby results, league position/cup runs and ultimately results.

I really hope he has enough influence in our transfer business and continues to. I am sure he is part of the discussion.

Fans need to be patient as the nature of our recruitment may result in new players taking time to settle into team.

If we're judging him on style.... he looks decent but Paolo Sergios white shirt, maroon tie, maroon cardigan made him a style icon

Annoyed we have had to suffer some keek managers over the years, why didn't we go get McInnes earlier?!

Apparently, we weren’t cool enough to have such a trend setter at the helm.

Until now.  :)

We have far too much information on which to base our conclusion. The kickback way is to judge a player or manager based on his YouTube highlights real, nationality, club supported or even on nothing at all.

Looked like his most recent holiday to the suns core had done him well.

Looks the part, says all the right things, hasn't put a foot wrong yet. Got no complaints and very excited about what's in store. Jim Jefferies seems to approve of him too.

No association with the club until now though, and heavy involvement with a couple of our big opponents. I hope fans don't kneejerk towards that if a time comes when he needs a bit of patience from us.

Style choice was interesting. Yer Da on holiday vibes. No trackies, no suit, no hoodie/casual vibe like Naismith. Blue polo and chinos, off for a nice meal with the family type stuff. Worth monitoring.

Says the right things

Desperately wanted and appreciates the opportunity to manage us

That isn't enough though

Will players walk through a brick wall for him - yes, because he is a pwopa man manager

Will players get away with giving half arsed performances or slacking off because they feel like it .... No chance

Would shanks have resigned without him at the helm ... Naw

Watched him out watching the warm up yesterday. Had a goal set up for finishing practice only Grabbing players at the water breaks, telling them what he wanted to see ...

Never wanted him near the club when I first heard, but u give it time, think it through ... It just makes sense on so many levels

The minute you accept that a young Pep, who is going to the very very top just isn't available for less than half a million a year you start to be grateful for the appointment

Delighted he's Hearts manager, finally we have a proper experienced guy who knows what he's doing

Should have had him in the dugout years ago.

Should have appointed him years ago. I like him and was pretty pleased when we appointed him.

My only concern was that he may disrupt the transition to following a fully fledged Jamestown Analytics team model. His comments over close season and line up at the weekend compound that a little but hoping he's just on a journey of change.

Think he'll do really well but people may need to temper their hopes that JA brought with them about fees and disrupting.

Said at the game on Saturday that the starting line up by Christmas should look very, very different, perhaps a bit sooner.  If not we might have a problem.  Time will tell.

No, it's a 'don't feel the need to walk about looking like a tramp' type post.

How could anyone wear a jacket, and a black one at that.!!

I never wanted him as manager but if he can get us winning more than we lose I will support him. Hearts are bigger than any player or manager and their results mean more to me than who is in the dug out.

Will he be Derek McWinnes or McWinless? Only time will tell

So far so good and long may it continue.

I think McInnes has been around long enough to know the dark arts in the Scottish league. As he said, if teams come for a fight they will get a fight.

Holds him selves and speaks as a Hearts manager should, in my opinion.

Will reserve initial judgement on the footballing side until after the first 5 to 6 fixtures. By Xmas I think we’ll have a good idea of what he’s trying to do, whether that will work and if the fans will take to it.

Initial impressions are good though. Probably better than expected when it was announced.

Ok so hear is my total take mased on 90 mins against a hateful Lennons PARS.

On Hearts as a team, still need a lot of Robbie to be coached out of.

On McInnes, he spoke well and honestly after the game, but i hope he can find his best 11 and find it quickly.  I think we will have a number of games under our belts before the sheep game who along with hibs will have that 2 squad scenario where Europe takes its toll, we have to be ruthless.  He made subs that mattered and worked against a tiring but naive pars side.  got the result of not the performance yet!

On the new guys, Braga and McEntee both played out of position but did well.  On the older guard, Cammy and Beni are disruptors, we don't need two on the park, sorry McEntee would have been better not coming off, but moved through the middle, or started there.  To be creative we only need 1 holding MF, so for that DM got it wrong I think????

Shanks 2 down 28 to go,  Looked in the mood

Braga would have been better moved to the middle instead of Wilson and Spittal wide left.  Forrest had a good game.  Kabangu muscled his way through the time had had.  Having a good bench is vital, we have that now

What did I learn, its not going to be a sudden change, but a slower one and we need to be more understanding, we wont get it all our own way, until the team is balanced.  It will take a couple of years, but where my impatience comes in, is that Rangers wont be better than last year.  This is not going to be Burley, but it will be good.

But did he have shoes or trainers on? Shoes he's a manager, trainers he's a coach..

Not an appointment that had me doing cartwheels.

Here's a prediction...if things are not going well, he wont get pumped as quickly as Critchley did.
