rocketman19 Posted July 5 Posted July 5 What's jkb posters predictions for where hmfc will finish in the league ? Quote
DxB Hearts Posted July 5 Posted July 5 3rd but closer to Rangers than expected. Both through us being good and them not being great. Quote

hughesie27 Posted July 5 Posted July 5 A tough fought battle for 3rd with someone (no idea who, always a bit of al lottery) but will be secured around about the split. Not getting ahead of myself before we have even kicked a ball. All sogni gs are an unknown. Even Shankland. Quote
OTT Posted July 5 Posted July 5 I reckon 3rd, and I also reckon it will be a 3 way fight between ourselves, Aberdeen & Hibs. I think Hibs will be the main challengers, and Aberdeen will probably have a rocky start because of Europe. Quote

Geoff Kilpatrick Posted July 5 Posted July 5 After last season, I'm in "show me" mode. Still too many of those failures kicking about. Quote
JJ1984 Posted July 5 Posted July 5 Fourth. Rangers will win the league, not a chance we are catching them. Quote

Polonia Gorgie Posted July 5 Posted July 5 I reckon we'll finish 3rd, we'll hammer hibs and aberdeen. Because we're so good "sir dave" n Jimmy get sacked. We'll beat both sides of the old firm. The year ends in 6 so we'll at least get to the Scottish Cup final Quote
martoon Posted July 5 Posted July 5 (edited) Champions. Like Columbo, I know who it is from the very start: Heart of Midlothian. Edited July 5 by martoon Quote

Dunks Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Too early to say IMO. We hadn't heard of most of the new signings a few weeks ago and we haven't seen them in action yet. Aberdeen and Hibs in Europe will help us, although I don't expect Hibs to last long. Quote
Captain Sausage Posted July 6 Posted July 6 I’ve not been this confident since… before last season. In hindsight there were some glaring problems with the squad last season, notably lack of width, pace or strength and limited midfield options. This season it feels like our glaring problem is a squad size of >30. But I’ve no doubt that’ll resolve itself. Only real issue I see beyond that is a reliance on Milne and Borchgrevink to stay fit as cover isn’t the best at fullback. Very excited for what should hopefully be a cracking season and a real turning point for Hearts. Quote
jamboozy Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Got to the polling station and the doors are closed! 🤬 WTF. Quote

Hibs will be out of Europe very quickly. I can see us 3rd and Hibs challenging early on, but falling away when Aberdeen gradually get their act together. Thelin to leave at some point. Just a gut feeling. We need to get fortress Tynecastle back and start picking up our fair share of wins/draws away from home. Can see Rangers losing a number of games against "lesser" teams. Us closing the gap a distinct possibility. Quote
gregzy2k7 Posted July 6 Posted July 6 3rd. However if we start the season well and rangers don't, then i geniunely dont see any reason why we couldn't at least push them for second place imo. Quote
William H. Bonney Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Hard to tell really. We all thought we were on to a great season last year and look what happened. I know pretty much nothing about most of our new signings. 1st few games as always should give a good indication. Quote
JimmyCant Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Voted 3rd which I think were nailed on for (as do the bookies) Rangers are still vulnerable this season IMO and it might be the last time they are vulnerable for a while so we’ve a chance of second if all the stars align Quote

Yes it’s a potential problem financially, although we seem unflustered by that so far as the signings keep rocking up. It’s also a problem for those at the tail end of the fringe and they’ve got a job forcing themselves into match day squads never mind the team, but as long as they’re not disruptive in the dressing room, it’s their choice to stay when the writing was in the wall for all to see Quote
Penrices left boot Posted July 6 Posted July 6 (edited) I think Aberdeen and hibs will be strong and I can see rangers getting no more than 75 points ( give or take a win). We got 68 points under Naismith, and I think 3rd will need over 60 points this year. With Deek in charge we will get 60 points+. I want us to hit 70 points- could be a stretch tho and imo would have us close to Rangers. I have no idea how the team will gel, there is a massive unknown factor in many of the new signings and how we start imo will be important. I'll say 3rd, but I always say 3rd. SIWYPod Posted July 6 Posted July 6 We usually hold off on predictions until the window is closed etc. But that being said, a treble is the only correct prediction, winning the lot lads 😂 Quote

I see the main issue as a financial one this season, not on the playing side. Super confident we will be significantly better than our competition next season, based on the gaps we have filled so far in the transfer window. Quote
alex young hero Posted July 6 Posted July 6 If we get off to a good start then there is no reason a third place will not be attainable ,biggest factor to me is how quickly the new as additions gel together Quote
VALDOS' Posted July 6 Posted July 6 3rd or 4th, I think Europe might be a hindrance to the Sheep in particular allowing a window of opportunity for others to take advantage. Quote
sac Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Our biggest obstacle this season or beyond if we improve, will be the men in black. If and it is a big if, we show any possibility of splitting the OF at some point, the forces of darkness will step in. Mark my words, our progress will be hampered at every opportunity. Quote

I’m sure this is what will happen, after cheatin’ Beaton’s shenanigans last season, Tynecastle will erupt with fury if we get fecked over like we have in the past. I will be very interested in Mr Bloom’s opinion on Scottish football’s officiating of games. Anyhow, I will take us to finish 3rd this coming season & in one ,or maybe both cup finals. Quote
mre Posted July 6 Posted July 6 2nd. I think the Huns will crash and burn and Martin sacked by Christmas. Quote
Hagar the Horrible Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Having read Billy Dodds interview I think they are, already making excuses for them not having the mental strength at Sevco, I expect 2nd, but 3rd and close should be a gimme Quote
feej Posted July 6 Posted July 6 I'm not sure where we'll finish, it's going to be very competitive between ourselves, Aberdeen, Utd and Hibs. Get a good start and hopefully those participating in Europe struggle to juggle the heavy fixture list ( although Hibs & Utd will fall at the first hurdle). Will be happy if the others mentioned are chasing us after the 1st round of fixtures. Quote

HMFC01 Posted July 6 Posted July 6 The poll closed at 06:47 this morning. I was going to vote at the last minute but fell back asleep 😆 Now it's reopened I'm in no rush until I see more transfers in and out. Third at least. Quote
davemclaren Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Too early to say for me as a lot of player ins and outs to happen for all teams plus unknown new players. However, I think we'll finish somewhere between third and fifth currently. 🥸 Quote

N Lincs Jambo Posted July 6 Posted July 6 Voted for 2nd. Obviously no idea how the investment into der Hun will work out but they finished last season 17 points behind Celtic and 17 above Hibs. Hibs were garbage until December then got their act together. By December they were already 17 points behind Rangers so kept pace with them second half of the season. I reckon we will be a good bit better than 2nd half of the season Hibs hence my optimism. About time we split the arse cheeks again. Quote
