Der Kaiser Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Thanks Anne. Right decision. Close thread before the insults start?
ali_jambo Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Without her we could easily have done a Rangers. Club legend.
hughesie27 Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Best time to move on and hand over the reigns as we head into this Bloom era. Cue dozens of folk who have given her stick for best part of a decade giving her a big thanks and all the best now.
hmfc_liam06 Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Thank you for saving our club and putting us in the best position the clubs ever been in my lifetime. Hopefully the insults can be kept away from the thread.
boag1874 Posted June 30 Posted June 30 It’s been coming for a wee while tbh, with her not getting any younger & the growing number of dissenters she’s going at the right time. Thank you for your incredibly hard work Ann, you’re forever going to be associated with saving our club & you’re leaving us in a far better state than you inherited us.
Chimp Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Correct decision. Done a lot of good for Hearts but stayed on far too long. Can see this thread reaching about 397 pages before she steps down in December.
HmfcLions Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Thanks for everything you’ve done Ann. Your hard work and achievements will be remembered and celebrated for years to come by the vast, vast majority of our fans.
copa-mundial Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Thank her for all she has done for club. Without any doubt, it is the right time for her to move on.
Australis Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Thank you very much for everything, Ann Budge. ♥️ 77 years old, time to enjoy a long and very happy retirement. There would be no Heart of Midlothian without Ann Budge. ♥️
Gmcjambo Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Not hugely surprised, this is the start of a new era and it’s the right time to step down. She goes with my thanks and best wishes. Whilst mistakes have been made, she will be remembered for stepping in to save our Club. Massively grateful for that and that is what her legacy will be.
flecktimus Posted June 30 Posted June 30 I will always be thankful to Ann Budge. Hope she has a great retirement and can watch the football from the Tynie stands with a glad heart.
Captain Lithuania Posted June 30 Posted June 30 I'd really love it if, now that funding from Bloom is secured, that FoH funds could be diverted to purchasing the majority of Ann Budge's shares. Thanks for everything Ann. She put up her money when nobody else would and that should never be forgotten.
A_A wehatethehibs Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Thank you Ann for all the effort and finances you put in to the football club. We have been a well run club, rebuilding, after the mess inherited, that is something to be very proud of, us fans should salute the discipline and professionalism. A shame we couldnt get over the line at Hampden in her time despite many visits, maybe we can do it this year as both a fitting send off and dawn of a new era

jamboinglasgow Posted June 30 Posted June 30 She may have had a lot of stick from people but she has been at the heart of a lot of change at the club in the last 11 years for the better. Thank you very much Ann. One point worth noting (as its not made clear on the statement but Hearts Standard confirmed) that she will still be on the board because of her shareholding in the club. But it does suggest we really are going a new direction with Bloom's stake.
Gordons left glove Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Thank you ann 🙏 shes divided opinion for a while now but where would we be without her. I think it's the right time and the right decision, a new era of hearts is underway and we need someone more modern and savvy with the actual football side of things.
Gorgierools Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Did someone not leak this last week? One of the more itk posters

Pans Jambo Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Argue all you like, Ann Budge has had a wonderful impact on our football club. We all know she helped save us in our hour of need and the whole club top to bottom is way better than it was when we were circling the drain of existence. Did she make mistakes? Yes, and plenty but just look where we are today? Enjoy your retirement Ann and thanks for what you have done for Heart of Midlothian FC.
selkirkhmfc1874 Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Delighted with this news but it would be wrong not to thank Mrs Budge for the very many things she's got right and there's no doubt the football club is in a far greater place than when she got involved so she should always be remembered that
Polonia Gorgie Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Thank you Anne, definitely would have been a different story if she didn't step in
dsk1210 Posted June 30 Posted June 30 (edited) All the best Ann. Thank you for helping to stabilise and progress the club in financial terms over the years. Edited June 30 by dsk1210

Star Lizard Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Well, she gets my everlasting thanks for what she has done for us. Time for her to move on it would appear, but she can be proud of her legacy. Really starting to feel like a new era now.
Nelly Terraces Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Best start to the week I could've asked for. Absolutely convinced we're going to win a trophy in the next couple of years now.
Jam11 Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Thanks for everything Anne, some people have short memories but the fact is, if not for you our club, nor this very forum, would exist today. You more than delivered what you set out to achieve. Thank you Anne 🇱🇻 ❤️
Dusk_Till_Dawn Posted June 30 Posted June 30 Much as I appreciate what went on at the start, this is not before time and looooooong overdue
Mister Dee Posted June 30 Posted June 30 I’ll never be able to thank her enough for rescuing Hearts from liquidation. Incredible contribution to the Club. Thank you AB
GBJambo Posted June 30 Posted June 30 (edited) Cheers Ann. Deserve the rest Edited June 30 by GBJambo
This is My Story Podcast Posted June 30 Posted June 30 I may be wrong but I don’t believe she is moving on, she’s just giving up her position as chair. She’ll still be on the board and involved in the running of the club.
reaths17 Posted June 30 Posted June 30 done a great job commercially for the club built solid foundations for the business. the downside is that who's gonna take over, is bloom now gonna get it in the neck ? there will already be a witch hunt on for shanklands replacement on the players front for who's getting it tight, this place will be a mess for the season coming

There would be no Heart of Midlothian without Ann Budge. ♥️ I agree with this completely. However, she may well want to step down but iirc according to our governance rule the chairperson can only be in post for a maximum time and that end date is approaching so she must step down very soon, no choice. But once again THANKS VERY MUCH Ann Edited June 30 by jam80s
