TheBigO Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I just can't wait for Barrie McKay to leave. It'll be great to be able to sleep again, and hoping it stops me losing my shit at my family all the time. I'm all cried out. Quote
Lord Beni of Gorgie Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I think unless you are employed by Jamestown Analytics, the phrase "I think we should sign" should come with an automatic thread ban, to save us all a lot of pointless reading! Expecting quite a few pre contracts to be announced. Getting Elton tied up is obvious, guessing we may sell more players, this window has shown its not the end of the world and we can improve by doing it. Quote

Hopefully now that the window is closed we turn our attention to pre-contracts and extending any of our own that we’d like to hold onto. Quote

LarrysRightFoot Posted February 4 Posted February 4 (edited) This thread will be a barrel of laughs no doubt. I think the below will definitely leave in the summer as it stands - Oda McKay Grant Possible exits - Gordon (retire) Kent Forrest Shankland I also think (like this window) there may be a few sales. With the likes of Penrice and Kabangu (assuming we take up our option to buy) generating interest. I also think Halkett and Kingsley will see out their contracts (which isn’t a bad thing IMO) as I’m not sure anyone will take the risk on them. Edited February 4 by LarrysRightFoot Quote
boag1874 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Pretty obvious we’ll see a good few out. I’d be very surprised if any of Grant Forrest McKay Halkett Kingsley Oda are still here come September. Going to be a very busy window, **** knows who we’ll bring in Quote

johnking123 Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Gordon retire Kent Kingsley Halkett Denholm Grant McKay Shankland Oda (could still leave soon) Forrest Vargas Dhanda Had this on winter. Think this all we will try to move on. Could get intrest in Penrice, Wilson and Musa. Going to be a busy summer. Quote
cosanostra Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I'd guess that it's highly unlikely Halkett or Kingsley will leave. Maybe CG will extend for a year and Zander takes over as first choice. There's pretty much no chance that Shankland is staying. No way. Oda, Grant, Forrest, Mackay will most likely leave. I think we'll sell Kent to some no-mark English club for £400k / undisclosed fee. I think we'll sell Dhanda for about the same to some 3rd rate European club. Quote

But more of a luxury player! Under performed against the old firm especially Rangers! Quite lazy does not back track and can't tackle! Nothing to offer us! now I would consider him now as a man short! Along with grant! . Forrest a tryer vargas a tryer but come under the same department along with Oda! So they would deffo be the 4 I would bin in the summer! Quote

Correct me if I’m wrong but halkett has his contract expiring next summer and Kingsley is the year after? I’d keep them even if they aren’t going to play much they are good at providing cover and I suppose also provide experience within a younger less experienced group. Quote

Gordon won’t extend his contract if he knows he will be number two. Not a chance. Wouldn’t want to watch his last year at the club sitting on the bench either. He either retires or continues as number one. Zander Clark must have been told what Gordon’s situation is and accepted it. Quote

Keeping Shankland and getting Devlin on a longer contract would do. Obviously signing Kabangu and Taylor if they show up well enough (one already has, I think). Aside from that, show us what you've got Jamestown. Quote

Presumably Gallagher is on either a rolling contract or one with a fixed end date. Quote

Long time for him to wait, but he must be ready to. They might even swap gloves earlier if Scotland don't qualify. Quote

Agree with your other comments but would add to the list Denholm, Tait and Pollock as surplus to requirement. Quote

Only good as cover if they are not on treatment table. Kingsley has had an injury every season he has been here legs are going, Halkett will keep breaking down after what hes been through so big risk to keep them plus its money side. I'd pay them off personally at end of season. Quote

Ofc, would depend if Gordon was interested in coaching and winding down a bit in terms of playing. He's also got the status to be a pundit. Quote
