We're a member of the SFA. Not the BFA.

The people I was mixing with on Wednesday, and yesterday afternoon, had a number of people who would share your views (lodge members, tattoos of the Union Flag, and worse), but not one mentioned the IRA, Catholics, or Britain. Everyone was talking about Bruges, Hearts, and excited about the game.

I reiterate, we are Scottish club, and nothing else.

We're also a British club, by virtue of being a Scottish club. You may not like that, but that's a you problem.

As for the bit in bold 😂😂 accepting Scotland is also in Britain as are the things in Scotland, isn't really a view, it's just a fact.

Folk who pull the Grass line on people reporting an offence tend to be arseholes.

Scotland is a country. Britain is an island. Ergo, the country we come from is Scotland.

I know you live in England are desperate for a connection with a Scottish club, but you're wrong on this.

Good night. I'm going for my Belgian meal. Flying back to the only country I live in, and the one Hearts come from, tomorrow.

I am not saying that, however some stupidness at a football match and the sweetie wifey sowing circle kicks in and demands the culprits image is posted on the internet.

Anyone on here ever did anything stupid over the years full of the bevy??

How would you feel if your coupon was plastered all over the internet. Honestly people are just so tragic these days!

Did anyone pull the boy up at the time bet the answer is no. Rushed home to jump on kick back and crack out the tools of the keyboard warrior.

The boy sounds like an absolute idiot. Fair enough discussing it on here but wee sweetie wifey contacting the club.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Get a grip! This site is like a wee sowing circle these days.

You may wish to consider the potential effects of even a single punch.

Numerous examples over the years even in Edinburgh alone ... the take-away fella doon Lochend way and the fella in Leith at a not too distant New Year spring to mind.

Especially when it is a cowardly 'sucker punch'.

Would you think the same if the recipient had suffered brain damage?

Is it weaponised like that though? I've never spoken to anyone with one (they don't have them in PR) or do people so embedded in the mess of Scottish bigotry just perceive it that was due to some of their prejudice?

Shocked at the grieve you are getting on this thread. They clearly dont know your a decent and well balanced and impartial poster who is honest and willing to express his own views.  Maybe they  havent spent much time on the terrace I guess. Or completely misinterpreting your comments.

Too true and any hearts fans laying into their own fan base are scumbags. Seen far too many people in Bruges that you could tell were just spoiling for a fight and some bother. The Monk bar on Wednesday night was full of them. Think the fact there was probably 3500 over contributed to the idiot element as folk think they can do what they want on these trips. Never seen any bother on previous trips on the scale of last night.

Ofc we are but by that logic  we're also European and global. How far are we going in your Scotland- uk- European- world logic?

However far you go, it's not got a place at the football.

We play in the Scottish league and are a Scottish club,  there is no British league.

That is also a fact.

In wider culture the union jack is relevant as England,  Wales, N Ireland and Scotland are irrelevant,  we are he UK in global matters.

However, In football we are Scottish,  there is no British league or British national team,  if you bring  a union jack to a Hearts game and sing daft songs you are a grade A fudd.

Anyone that defends this are at it.

The diet hun crowd can all gtf, leave their political agenda at the door or gtf.

We arent rangers or celtic that spew bile and add to the cancer on our society  that is religious bigotry.

Often on these type of threads someone always asks "did you confront him at the time"

How many people would think it a good idea to confront someone who is both violent and an arsehole

Hearts are a Scottish club and play in the Scottish League, therefore when playing abroad we are representing Scotland not Britain, it is a nonsense to fly a Union flag which is a political symbol with bigoted religious  undertones and gives the wrong impression of Hearts roots.  Leave that nonsense to Rangers and Celtic no better when flying Irish flags.

So when I go to the remembrance service with a poppy and a union flag pinbadge does that make me a diet hun?

Until Scotland leaves the Union, we'll also always have been a British club. There's no Scotland flag in the St Johnstone crest, by your logic of the crest dictating realist, does that mean they're not a Scottish club?

We are not a British club. No such thing exists.

A poppy and Union badge would be relevant at a British war remembrance service in a way they are not a Hearts football match.

All about context. You can’t display these flags at Scottish football without a, perfectly reasonable, accusation attached to it.
To contradict that, if I may, I have no great truck against people having their views at the football. I like the primal passion of football and have a slight problem with the complete sanitation of our game.
England is a good example of a nutcase mentality that has been sanitised over the last 30 odd years. I think there is a balance of pure passion and not letting big business destroying the fabric of what is, essentially, an outlet for organised dissent.

Correct.

You got there in the end.

And that is exactly why if you bring  a UJ to a Scottish clubs football game you are making a political statement .

Just like the bigoted/ sectarian aresholes from both ends of Glasgow.

You knew this tho and played the game well.

As one is with a saltire.

If you bring/display/wave any national flag anywhere you're making a political statement...that's literally my point. Some people just aren't willing to tolerate others national flags, which is fine, but don't pretend it's the other people who are being the bigots alone. It's a groupthink of my view is right and virtuous and others are abhorrent bigotry.

As I said, Tosh, all about context. Someone waving a saltire at a game could, at a stretch, by some, be making a political statement. It’s a desperate state of affairs to even suggest that but here we are ! It’s all very strange in Scotland !

They would be, any fudd waving a saltire and singing FoS at a Hearts game would 100% be making a political statement. I wouldn't pretend otherwise.

I've not seen that tho.

I have seen arseholes with uj's singing about Edinburgh being wonderful and fenians at Hearts games tho.

Good posting . Clearly some have ulterior motives with their disapproval of the British flag.  But we are a British and Scottish club . Like it or not . Still do not feel it necessary to be waving any flags of countries at matches unless internationals though .

No such thing in FIFA or UEFA as a British club. We're a Scottish club.

I'll tell you what. How about the next away game to Ibrox or Celtic Park you join me?

We can stroll it to the ground together with me being safe beside such a big man.

I'll stand back and admire you getting stuck in v the opposing fans as you set about them rather than, ahem, 'grass 'em up'.

Ps ... you've swerved answering my Q re-violent assault. Perhaps if someone lamped yer da' you'd just shrug it off as trivial high jinks.
