Interesting to note that out of Man U’s 20 league titles, only two weren’t won with either Busby or Ferguson in charge.

Only ever had two periods of dominance, both under Scottish managers and a decade later their fans still haven’t come to terms with the fact it might never happen again.

Won't be surprised if Jim there is nothing I don't know about everything Ratcliffe goes for Southgate.

That's a crying shame. Was brilliant seeing that club self implode useless manager, after useless manager. £600 million spent during his time, and Ten Hag still wouldn't take responsibility! Absolutely glorious. Hopefully they appoint Gareth Southgate, that will make for some viewing.

A lot of money spent and awful signings overall in his tenure, awful season in the league last season aswell - It was the FA cup win that kept him in a job coming into this season. A lot of problems at Manchester United for the last 10 years or more.

They have been poor since SAF stepped away. I think he built them into a team that is regarded world wide as being great but are they that level of team? Personally I don't think they are that level now and who knows if the will be up there again. SAF built a team and then tuned it from season to season. That team has gone and now they are a collection of individuals.

It's mental though as they spend so much they really should be up there competing with City and Liverpool.Poor management choices really.

Shows you average they are that this clown would be in their top 10 managers of all time.🤣

They should have stuck with Moyes all those years ago, just as they did with Fergie.

All the chopping and changing to find themselves exactly where there were.

Seemingly they'll be appointing Rueben Almorim, the current Sporting Lisbon manager. I'm pretty sure he turned down Liverpool before the appointed Slot.

Liverpool turned him down after he went and spoke to West Ham when Liverpool were interested in him, ended all interest after that, it left Almorim nowhere to go but with his tail between his legs back to Lisbon.

Bit of a strange take bud but entitled to your unpopular opinion I guess.

He's no Billy connolly but that man built a whole new modern empire at man utd.

You don't do that with the charisma of a plank like ten hag ,that I can tell you.

Xavi linked. I think he'd be a good choice

If they can get him, it would be huge.

Rumours of Rude van Nis but it's too early.

Personally, they should have snared Eddie Howe from Newcastle. One of the best coaches there is, and with Man Utd - he could take them back to Champions League in two seasons.

Posted

They will go with Van Nistelrooy due to his links with the club and lack of other options until the end of season then reevaluate imo.

Posted

They need an enormous clear out of players, including senior ones that are first picks. There’s something rotten in the dynamic of that squad of players.

No chance he leaves the project at Villa where he has major input into everything for the shambles at Old Trafford whereby he'd be working under numerous individuals. He would be a very good target though.

The truth is, despite their issues, they are still the biggest ticket in the country and one of the top 3 jobs in World football.

If Villa were approached and they granted permission to talk, he'd go in a heartbeat.

Looks like Amorim from Sporting Lisbon.   Whoever it is will have a lot of very good players to work with.  Not sure what Ten Hag was trying to achieve on the pitch but his teams always looked a bit disjointed apart from the FA cup final.

Money's too tight to mention.

the fact that Jonny Evans played in Fergie's last game and is somehow back at the club and starting says it all.

When you say “a lot of very good players” which ones?
A bunch of rejects or youngster’s, a huffy Rashford who has 1 good game in ten and the laziest captain in the league.

Doubt Amorim will go with it announced his good friend & Sporting Lisbon technical director will be taking over at Man City next year when Pep is out of contract too.

Seems potentially lined up for him

Think United will get Eddie Howe.

Had a great relationship with Dan Ashworth before and has previous getting a tune out of underperforming players

Not sure Howe has done enough with Newcastle to make what would be a massive step up.

Man Utd have lots of good players.

Bruno Fernandes is one of the best in the league.

You clearly dislike Man Utd yet are always keen to have an opinion on them.

They aren’t where they were, they have slipped far further down

The fact is, a decade of players who weren’t actually good enough for the club have scammed the club for these massive contracts.

Who in gods name would give Markus rashford a 5 year deal on 300k a week??? And that’s just 1 example, these 40 year old crocks like Varane and Casemiro getting 4-5 year deals as well.

Basic bit of ball knowledge, There’s 2 clubs in world foootball you should never take a released player from, Real and Bayern. These clubs only let go of players when they’re crocked or on the slide. And yet Man U go straight in and give these cast offs massive contracts.

A club run by folk who’ve not got a clue about football behind the scenes for 10 years and it shows in that squad painfully.

They literally need to delete the entire squad

I don’t think Fernandes is that good. He absolutely melts when things don’t go his way. Couldn’t fight his way out a paper bag

Amorim would be quite the appointment. Arguably the best young coach around just now. Lined up to replace Pep at City.

I kind of agree with Gary Neville when he said the previous decision makers have got alot wrong and the structure behind the scenes played a big part in the demise of the playing side.

When you look at some of the players Liverpool, Man City etc…have signed over the years are we saying Man U were never in for them or never came close to acquiring them even if they were in the running to sign them?

It does seem like decision making from the top has played a big part to in where they find themselves now and maybe they wouldn’t have spent so much on players who simply aren’t good enough if they had people who knew what they were doing?

Same guy who was pleading for the West Ham job last season and didn’t get it. Also, a number of big clubs didn’t choose him for their jobs in the summer.
