Heidenheim v St Gallen

Real Betis v HJK

APOEL v Astana 

Molde v Mlada Boleslav 

Celje v The New Saints 

Cercle Brugge v Istanbul 

Backa Topola v Noah 

 

The bottom three are the biggest concern. Celje should beat TNS, which we don't really want. Istanbul have hit a wee bit of form so could easily get the better of Brugge and Backa Vs Topola is quite hard to call. Two of those results to against us and we're out.

 

If, god forbid, we lose we can still progress on 6 points but we would really need some luck with results going our way. 

 

Really need to just go for it next week and get an early lead.

Further complications but in our favour.

 

Molde might do us in by beating Mlada,   but a 0-1 for Molde and a 1-1 for us hikes us above Mlada.

 

Very,  very slim chance of Omonia losing by 4 versus Borac puts us ahead.

The good(ish) thing about the game in bold is Mlada are only ahead of us by one goal, so if we draw and Molde do win to go above us, Mlada will at best be level with us on both points and goal difference, and quite possibly behind us on GD!

You’re forgetting that if we draw and Molde win to go above us on gd, we would go above Mlada so that result doesn’t matter at all as we would be guaranteed to be above one of them. 
 

There’s also other teams on 6 and 7 points that could lose and we go above with a draw.  I think it’s pretty unlikely we get knocked out with a draw.

Also Borac and Omonia both above us on 6 and 7 points and play each other so as long as they don’t draw then a draw for us guarantees we finish above one of them too (by either a point or on goal difference depending on which one wins).

Arguably beating Omonia Nicosia and Minsk away was our best case scenario. We are now in a position where beating Petrocub at home the week before Xmas qualifies us for European knockout football in February... What on earth are people moaning about.  Next Thursday should be one of most memorable nights in our Hearts supporting lives.
