Seems a woman from Utah has ran away from the USA with her 4 children due to believing the end is coming! Why she would think it would be safer to be in Europe I have no idea. The fathers (one of them is father to 3 of the children) are obviously mad with worry.

Hopefully the children will be found safe and well very quickly.

Utah mom allegedly abducted kids, leaving sinister 'to-do' list

Reckon the Dad is absolutely in on it. His priority seems to be getting himself to Europe too with others funds. Albeit could just be the shoddy article

Fair point. The crowd funding thing is so normal in the US it is hard to tell if it is a scam. It does seem a hell of a long way round to move or even go on a holiday to a new country!

Lots of Iranians taken to the streets last few days.

Will they end up shot dead in the streets, or hanging from cranes in the city centre.

They seem to be fed up.

I do wonder what attracted this  27 years old lad to 63 years old  plain looking , millionaire  writer Russell T Davies ?

The “ progressives “ lauded the news as “ wonderful “ and “ couldn’t be happier “ for him ( Russell ).

me ? The issue I have with “ age gap “ relationships ( straight or gay ) is the inherent power imbalance  in them , social status , maturity , emotional maturity , and Ofcourse financial . This can lead to various problems .

Its been proven in various studies that longer term relationships work when couples have interests in common , their ages are similar and various other factors .

Maybe the younger lad is in it for the long game or sadly he maybe just be a trophy husband .

There have been some long term age gap relationships which have worked out where the younger one has bid their time ( ooops ) sorry stayed the course ( Catherine Zeta Jones / Michael Douglas )

ps the online comments have been quite savage 😎

This in your BnB?

Wearing hoods up indoors means your guest is either a) ugly; b) having hair issues; c) a wannabe black gangster from the ‘hood.

How bad is the snow in Sneaky today?

As usual, not worth clicking on. No detail. All I wanted to know was how on earth a car can end up on its side neatly wedged between a metal fence and a stone wall.

Impressive parking skills?

The number of folk outside hand washing their cars in this weather.  What's that all about? Leaving ice all over the road and pavement.

Nah, as long as you don’t have to do something like standing at a bus stop it’s alright. I’ll be back in long trousers tomorrow as I start back at work but most of the last couple of weeks off it’s been shorts all the way apart from social occasions.

Any grown man wearing shorts then isn’t engaged in sporting activity should be placed on some kind of register. Being on said register means no access to big boy places like pubs, libraries and gentleman’s

clubs.

More fool you. I always wear shorts lounging about the house which is a damned sight better than those half pyjama/half jogging bottom “leisure pants” some people wear, especially tartan ones. If I need to head out to the shops or whatever I’m not going to go to the bother of changing my clothes when I’m already wearing something that’s ok. Though having said that it in no way excuses people wearing their jammies to the shop.

It was a 'feels like' temperature of -7 at the weekend, shorts is crazy talk!

Must be the most bizarre story just now.

Seems too ridiculous to be true.

Funeral for alive teen was arranged for this week.

It happened 3 weeks ago.

Surely families would have had to identify dead one and sit with the one in hospital.

I cannot my head around it.

Big news this morning and making the police very incompetent.

You need to try this………it’s biscuit dunking on the next level.  Get a cup of hot whatever you like, place biscuit over the top….turn after a minute or two then get it tanned…..the soft caramel in the middle goes all warm and gooey, it’s the mutts nuts.

The only downside is the waffle biscuits only come in packs of 8………20 is a much nicer and rounded number, particularly if you need to share 😁

The work at the Whitchurch canal breach continues at pace.

The narrowboat which was teetering on the edge was first winched back from the edge then after a complex operation involving multiple temporary cofferdams, was winched clear of the breach, behind a dam, re-floated then towed out of the area for integrity inspections.
On the other side of the breach, a specialised Menzi Muck digger with independently moving wheeled legs is digging a shallow ramp down to the other two stuck boats, so they can also be winched out and re-floated. With the ground being sandy and saturated with water there was no way of getting a heavy lift crane down there to lift the boats out.

I assume that once all three boats are out, the work will come to a halt for many months. The previous big canal breach at Bridgewater is still pretty much as it was when it burst. Been over a year now and nothing has been done over there.

Some “ welfare check “ !! 😎

I’ve had to get the police a few times to check on an old mate ( he’s in his mid 80s) and they were very good .

Old mate was found almost in a coma in the living room by them , (UTI) and police basically saved his life .

Few weeks later he was complaining to me that the police smashes his front door in and he had to pay for it !!  I told him they / me probably saved his life . 😡

I’m hoping / assuming there’s more to that news story than in the article

What is more horrifying is that the who scenario happened after the plane was beyond the go/no-go decision speed (V1) when it is safer to take off and then land immediately rather than stop.

Also unfortunately despite the pilots best efforts they had 2 engines out and you cannot fly an MD11 on one engine (you can on two).

The NTSB have confirmed the Number 2 (tail mounted) engine failed.   Likely from Foreign Object Damage.
