The guys entitled to do what he wants, without the knuckle draggers even starting having a go at the man...Good luck, life's about taking opportunities when they present...

We all move on 😁

Knuckle draggers 😂

But yes, good luck to the guy looking to siphon off some more money from the game.

Bloom will be right on the phone 😂

While it sounds a  bit weird  to us fans, he'll have seen how things work behind the scenes regarding agents, players,  contract negotiations, sports science, rehab, training requirements, sponsorship etc  - and may have felt that relationships  could be made more efficient with a sports consultancy  middle-man that isn't affiliated to any one agency, club or sport.

Interesting to see if FT FT take off  .

Does an equivalent service exist in England ? I'd have thought England is where lots of football clubs have  money to burn on stuff like this.

Rather strange logo on his LinkedIn page  - sort of Monty Python & the Holy Grail  thing that Terry Gilliam might have done 😏

So he's acting as an agent for agents?!

I liked what's JS did at Hearts and think he got a bit of a tough time for certain things but adding another layer, and cost, onto the movement of players/staff is the last thing football needs.

At the top top level they can afford it but even another 1% of a deal to clubs like Hearts adds up and is so unnecessary.

Sounds like he'll be helping find mutually beneficial deals, like between Hearts and Bloom.

I like Joe, he's had it well tight.

Liked Joe Savage and from the get go. Heard he was a really hard worker and I loved him bigging us up against the old firm.

Personally, think he did a very good job for us.

I didn't get the seethe for him at times. Reckon he would have been a good sort to have around the club

Also like the fact that he isn't leaving us to go to something bigger but is going to do something completely different instead

Going from what he had to setting up his own business is a risk and he obviously has confidence in his own abilities

Best of luck to him 🙏

A middle man between the middle men! Another pig with their snout in the trough, taking a % cut and taking money out of the game!

Good luck to him, wish him well!

My thoughts exactly. I'm not sure why an agent would need a broker? That's literally their job!

Everyone needs an honest joe to broker deals. 😎

Nothing against the guy personally . For me recruitment improved when he came in so did league placings . Not all going to be down to him obviously , but I hold no ill will to the man

Perhaps money to be made helping players and agents navigate the new post-Diarra v FIFA world

Doesn't quite add up to me. I don't think he's left of his own accord to go and do this.

Not entirely his decision, maybe Bloom's future involvement a factor.

It feels like he's had a package to leave and buy himself some time, which would hint at something other than simple resignation.

Possible he did just take this leap, he would have to be pretty confident of it succeeding to walk away with nothing immediately lined up. He is a self proclaimed risk-taker so who knows.

According to his LinkedIn page, JM was Head of Academy Performance at Hearts for a 1.5 years - but left in 2023.    He does seem to flit about a lot.

Bobby Jenks page confirms he was at Hearts for 7 years (1991-1998) involved in coaching & scouting

The former sporting director at Hearts had close relationships with the managers who worked under him in Robbie Neilson and Steven Naismith, both of whom were passionate about the need to feed academy graduates through into the first team set-up.

Lies.

I don't disagree with you. What I think some fans are not getting with the change in manager is the focus on more youth. The article suggests that youth were not given the chance they deserved as recent managers made safer selections. The club has been quite clear that the new manager had to have a history of playing youth and making money for the football club. Once they went done the Data Analytics route, I never thought I would have heard of the new manager before. I also thought there would be a number of players, particular in our forward department, who would find it hard to get minutes in a high energy high press tactics.

I think the first team squad of 20 on a Saturday might be very different in a few weeks. If mobility is key, Musa and Wilson will be in every squad and Oda going to play a lot more minutes than before. Pollock would have been ahead of all three if not already on loan. Could easily see him recalled in January. I think Shanks may be the player to see the biggest reduction in minutes under the new manager. Gone are the days of him playing every minute of every game.

And that might actually make the new managers job even harder if seen not play our best player as much.

Joe is going to be in Open Goal this evening.

Should be an interesting watch / listen.

A quality listen this and some remarkably good insight of his time at the club.

Side note, some of our fan base should be embarrassed at their behaviour towards this fella. He openly talks about it and it’s disgusting.

The personal abuse Joe received,no wonder he jacked it.

Sounds like we just missed out on Nicky Devlin aswell.

Pretty close to being really

successful under Joe imo.

God help Graeme Jones.

I’d heard the Devlin one was all but done at the time, and then as he said Naismith hesitated cause he wanted to reassess.

Was a lot more open than I was expecting him to be. Seems a good guy.

Hope his new venture works out for him.

I couldn't GAF about other clubs, there's no need for abusing people who are just doing their job.

Quite enjoyed listening to that.

Interesting to hear that Man City, Arsenal, Aston Villa etc were all after James Wilson.

I seem to remember he said himself he had ‘a heid like a boulder’ 🤣

Very good listen and debunks a lot of the myths on here. Seemed to buy in to the data behind Blooms investment, positive about Naismith and some very good insight. The abuse he got was appalling.

Posted

Always liked him think he got more right than wrong in terms of recruitment. Abusing a sporting director after a loss is absolute nuts. Fair enough manager and players getting a bit of stick but a defeat has nothing to do with Joe Savage. Some of our fans really are a disgrace.

Posted

Just read the article in the Sun, the personal abuse he received is disgusting, some folk need a good shake, totally out of order.

On the whole I think he did a good job for Hearts, some players work out some don't.

Sections of hearts fans reflection of society. Getting worse.

I remember Savage saying Kio was our top target. Wonder how he’d rank in Blooms analytics app.
