Cambo Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Burnley announce move from Umbro to Castore. Presumably first of many, if not all currently on Umbro books. Looks like Umbro diamond may vanish from professional kits. https://www.footyheadlines.com/2024/05/blog-post.html
HamishMcGonagall Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 https://castore.com/blogs/press/castore-agrees-umbro-pro-team-sports-licence Mentions us in this article: "We will also supply, under the Umbro brand, to Heart of Midlothian in the Scottish Premiership, where Castore is already the global kit partner for Glasgow Rangers FC, and England Rugby men’s and women’s teams at a time of heightened interest in the sport during the Guinness Six Nations."

Thank **** it’s under the Umbro brand. I don’t want the Castore “flying vagina” logo on our shirts.
Jacques de Gauthier Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 I'm surprised we didn't try to cash in with a European kit in 22/23. Wonder if they've commissioned one for next season?
Ricardo Quaresma Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 I presume we could wriggle out of this deal if we wanted to; it's not what we agreed to, is it, after all?
PhoenixHearts Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 I still don't really understand the Umbro/Castore partnership. I need someone to explain it to me like i'm a five year old. The hope is that any clubs contracted to Umbro still make use of Umbro's designers, aesthetics and technology and Castore is merely a partner for wider distribution and logistics. The fear is it just means using Castore's terrible materials and cheapy outdated 2010's design features but with an Umbro badge slapped on instead. If it's the latter, then this is not what we agreed to as a club when we teamed with Umbro and I think in that case we should cut bait and partner with Hummel, Kappa or even Errea.
ginger jambo98 Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 When we had the ASICS kit in early 2000’s, they were actually manufactured by TFG who supplied kit to the likes of Killie and Ayr.

Inside diamond is filled in but at least it's not red. Also doesn't have a Castore vibe so nice to see it looks like Umbro kits are still being designed and made by Umbro

Probably because they've changed their logo several times in their history and what looks to be the new one is actually a throwback to what they've had previously, before the current one, which only came in during the 70s, before most strips had the maker's logo. But the current one (or similar) has been around so long that, like you say, it's become iconic.

Red would look crap.

It’s all about money. Some of the top clubs in England want more money than Umbro can pay, so they go to Castore who have sourced a massive amount of cash. Umbro have joined Castore to allow them to stay in the market. They will continue to have the Umbro brand and hopefully our shirts will continue with them. Next season’s shirt is Umbro.
Tollcross OB Posted May 12, 2024 Posted May 12, 2024 I once visited a TFG factory in think it was in Wishaw. I expected to see to see school clothes to be being produced as that was they supplied most of the main supermarkets but instead they were producing the Reebok classic Vneck Liverpool strip. My amateur team had a TFG strip it was good quality.
tian447 Posted May 13, 2024 Posted May 13, 2024 Ajax Third Kit for next season. Good colour choice that
Irish_Jambo74 Posted May 13, 2024 Posted May 13, 2024 Is there any date yet for the release of our new home kit?

If you look at all our recent Umbro shirts, the fabric is the same colour on the inside.
