Where do you park these days at Cappielow? years and years since I've been there.

I think I was driving a Vauxhall Astra the last time I was through there. 🥸

I’m pretty sure that the fans of all the German clubs united to get Monday night league games a no go - but I could be wrong😊

Yes, and fans of other countries have taken action too. In the UK, people just passively accept the situation, like they do everything else.

The issue here, well Scotland anyway, is that too many fans will just go against whatever their rivals say, even if its good for the game.

Because I’m going to Jerry Sadowitz that night so I asked for that to be taken into account.

Yes, can’t see fans coming together to address it. It’s a shame.

My first ever away game was the Morton cup tie in 1964/5. Left in a football special train hauled by a steam engine from the Caley Station. All 3 are things of the past. Witnessed a 3 - 3 draw (Gordon, Hamilton and Wallace) as well as the 2 - 0 replay (Shevlane and Gordon) at Tynecastle.

Did we moan this much when we played Partick Thistle in the quarters on a Monday night a few years ago? 🤔

Probably, kickback moaning is eternal

Unlikely - it was Ford that made the Zephyr

Or Kilmarnock in the two replays 1986-87 campaign ?

1-1 draw on the Saturday, 1-1 draw on the Wednesday, gubbed 2-5 from Rangers on the Saturday, down to Rugby Park on the Monday for a 1-3 victory.

My mistake with the maker of the Zephyr.

Meanwhile ... I reckon that we'll sell out.

But ...

I'm now awaiting ticketing info for the 🏆 tie and will likely do as per Airdrie ... that is, bag one and decide on the day.

Travelling TO the match is OK for me as I can leave early to avoid the inevitable congestion. But, it'll make it a very long day.

Still not sussed out the bus times ... moreso for coming back ... but the weather might swing it for me. If it's horrendous then the telly will likely be my option.

"A Rainy Night in Greenock":-

 🎶🎵🎶

… Hoverin' by my suitcase
Tryin' to find a warm place to spend the night
Heavy rain's fallin'
Seems I hear your voice callin' "it's all right"
… A rainy night in Greenock
A rainy night in Greenock.

Lord, I believe it's rainin' all over the world
I feel like it's rainin' all over the world
… Neon signs a-flashin'
Taxicabs and buses passin' through the night
A distant moanin' of a train
Seems to play a sad refrain to the night
… But it's a rainy night in Greenock
Such a rainy night in Greenock.

Lord, I believe it's rainin' all over the world
I feel like it's rainin' all over the world
… How many times I wondered
It still comes out the same
No matter how you look at it or think of it
It's life and you just got to play the game
… Find me a place in a box car
So I take my guitar to pass some time
Late at night when it's hard to rest
I hold your picture to my chest and I feel fine, I feel fine
… But it's a rainy night in Greenock
Baby, it's a rainy night in Greenock

Lord, I believe it's rainin' all over the world
Kinda lonely now and it's rainin' all over the world

… Rainin', rainin' rainin', rainin', rainin' rainin', rainin', rainin', rainin', rainin'

🎶🎵🎶

Last time I was at Cappielow Donald Ford scored 3 penalties in a 3 - 2 win, then our bus rooflight got a concrete block dropped through it from a walkway over the road. Nobody hurt I am glad to say but it was scary!

Can't see the badge on the rear clearly, it may be a Viva E.

Yup I was there on the Danderhall HSC bus - thankfully the roof light remained intact!

I can't be sure it was that game but do remember being on a special train to Greenock around that time which, by the time of its return, had been completely wrecked.

Not all that unusual back in them thar days.

Every year I have a laugh at folk who book holidays or events on SC dates.

I have woken up this morning and realised I bought tickets to see Bill Bailie at the Playhouse on Monday 11th for the wife’s birthday 😱🤦🏽🤬?!?!
