Clark’s footwork is poor, he wasn’t getting to that free kick if it was on target

Nope, he was like an auld man jumping into a Benidorm swimming pool.

Great block but the defence is poor tonight.

Shanks for Brown

Ferguson for Mclean

Doig for Taylor

HT changes hopefully.

Jacob Brown has scored 1 goal in 13 starts for Luton.

Shanks must be asking what he has to do to get a game.

Down the left hand side again.

2 yards past his near post...

Lucky boy...

Cut and paste the goals chat there...awful defending, truly pitiful, but again ZC in no man's land big time...

Taylor is causing us huge problems

Brown?

I never want to hear another Hearts fan say Shankland doesn’t hustle.

He’s tearing us apart down the left.

Might get on at HT. Brown has had little service but Shanks better at holding up the ball.

More likely Dykes with shanks getting final few mins

Posted

Taylor and McLean are mince. Armstrong not much better.

McGinn and Paterson on another level from the rest so far.

Good subs and get to see how Doig would fair as Taylor is getting beat all the time off that Bobb

That first half has made it even more likely Shanks will be on the plane to Germany next year.

Taylor is miles off this level.

He is paddy im glad you have said it. Same against georgia. That side of the pitch has been our achiles the last 2 games but taylor is nowhere international level.

Could well be Clarke has decided he knows what Shankland brings and is content and wants to see Brown.

Would make sense.

Nothing he could have done and almost saved it point blank.

Yep, folk piling onto him is out of order

Ally McLeod did exactly the same in 1978 when he took Don Masson and Bruce Rioch , Willie Johnstone and Tam Forsyth who had all peaked in there Scotland careers and failed in Argentina and who never played for Scotland again after the tournament, all four  were all in there 30s by the time the tournament started.

He left players like Andy Gray who was arguably the best striker in England at the time at home, and didn’t give Graeme Souness a game till the final game against Holland.

A manager cannot afford to be too loyal im afraid, but he has form for it when he stuck by players like David Marshall etc in the last euros.

Derek Johnstone should’ve featured in Argentina, especially after his header against Wales. Similar to Donald Ford and Dennis Law in 74. I’m still heartbroken after Argentina 78

Taylor and Brown have to be hooked surely, both miles off the pace.

Lucky to be drawing at halftime, defensively, we're very poor, but to be expected, with all the injuries we have.

Well said.

It seems to me that certain posters on this board are really quick to rip into our players at every opportunity whether playing for us or our international team.

I would honestly hate to be a Hearts player just now. Never thought I would ever hear myself saying that.

This.

He's scored once against Gillingham.  Shanks on the other hand...

Yep, Tierney, Robertson and Hickey out, but we do need better than Taylor, even at 4th choice, he's not up to this level.

Anyone fancy Georgia to get a winner in Spain and shanks to come on and get winner here 🫣

Can see the second part, but not the first, sadly.

Why not leave Brown on and add Shankland? Shanks would just be as isolated as Brown has been with the service he got in that 1st half. Brown has a decent enough first touch, get Shanks in around him.

Going by the stats Spain are all over them. Spain will win.

By the way if Gordon is fit, he will 100% be back up for Gunn, Clark is not international level, he just isn't.

It will be interesting if Gordon comes in, proves his fitness and has a strong 1/2 season. A fit Craig Gordon is in a different league to Gunn. Much like he was to Marshall the last time. Surely Clarke wouldn’t make the same mistake twice.

Scoring goals at the highest level in Scotland is clearly not a benchmark for a Scottish striker anymore. Unless you

play for rangers or Celtic where it infinitely easier to do it.

What I think

Brown is clearly not the type of player that can play up front on his own…he needs Shanks or Dykes beside him

Brown’s second touch is a tackle, given it away too many times and even managed to run it out of play unchallenged. Just not up to it I’m afraid. Rather see Dykes and Shankland up front.

Gunn has done nothing wrong since coming in. I would say his distribution is better than Craig's too. Difficult one, but Craig as back up would be my preference.

 Correct.

He’s a Hearts player, representing Scotland. Yet so called Hearts fans, seem almost desperate for him to **** up.
