There's Greeks and Ancient Romans, not forgetting the Zulu,

Culture was the seed of proliferation but it's gotten melded
Into an inharmonic whole, to an inharmonic whole.
Consciousness has plagued us and we cannot shake it
Though we think we're in control, though we think we're in control.
Questions that besiege us in life are testament of our helplessness.

Not yet, as far as I'm aware. I'll suggest it to them next time I see them.

Just what is it that you want to do?

Well, we wanna be free, we wanna be free to do what we wanna do

And we wanna get loaded and we wanna have a good time

And that's what we're gonna do (away baby, let's go)

We're gonna have a good time, we're gonna have a party

Apologies if already mentioned but Billy Brag's "New England" always stood out for me:

When I wrote this song,

I'm 22 now,

But I won't be for long..."

Great song.

It should be the Aussie national anthem.

Two of my very favourite songs!

Well the smart money's on Harlow, and the moon is in the street
The shadow boys are breaking all the laws
And you're east of East St. Louis, and the wind is making speeches
And the rain sounds like a round of applause

And Napoleon is weeping in the Carnival saloon
His invisible fiancée is in the mirror
And the band is going home, it's raining hammers, it's raining nails
Yes, it's true, there's nothin' left for him down here

Way too many Tom Waits lyrics fit the bill.
This isn’t him though but it’s a great song.

You know I'm impatient
So why would you leave me waitin' outside the station
When it was like minus four degrees?
And I, I get what you're sayin'
I just really don't wanna hear it right now
Can you shut up for like once in your life?
