Favourite Hearts goal. Game you were at. Game you weren't at.

7000 Jambos at Parkhead

I was at Celtic Park in 1985-86 (we drew 1-1, I think).

The whole of the away end terracing was allocated to Hearts fans. Not sure how many of us were there, but I’d guess around 15,000.

A Celtic fan I knew said he was gobsmacked at the sight. They hadn’t seen anything comparable outside of a Rangers game.

I was at both games at Parkhead that season. A 0-1 win and a 1-1 draw. Rare times.

Taken from a Celtic website re the 1-1 game:

“45,346 – second highest attendance in the UK that weekend (only beaten by the Liverpool derby)

Hearts have a huge support and have the full Rangers end of the ground.”

Maybe my estimate of 15,000 Jambos was an underestimation?

Games I was at:

Robbo's against the wee team in 1983. Controlled with one foot, and curled into the top corner. Rough was clawing at thin air. Knew then the wee man was special. Travesty with no cameras to record it, but will stay in my memory forever.

Close calls for Fergie against Bayern, Rudi at the Gorgie Road end at last, Robbo at Tannadice in 1986 and a Jim Townsend screamer against Morton which stuck in the old stanchion in the net.

Games not at:

Ozturk at Easter Road and Mike Galloway against Austria Vienna.
