:waiting:

I think it’s got rooms above so technically a hotel and can open early.

Grapes at Newington sure that opens early

Christ!

The Grapes.

You'd have to be really desperate for a drink to venture into there, or indeed, many of the boozers near to it!

My foot tapping guy was because I had suggested it before the poster I quoted. I've been in their many time on a Sunday morning before derbies at Easter Road. 👍

They can sell it at that time the rest of the week, just not Sundays. Can’t be long before these archaic laws are changed surely 🤞?

Archaic laws 😂

I had to give up the drink in 1978 for health reasons.

Back then up till mid 1970s

10.00pm was chucking out time.

Then they went all liberal and made it 11.00pm before finally allowing pubs to open throughout the day.

Pubs were closed on a Sunday and you could only get a drink at Hotels and clubs 12.30-2.30 and 6.30pm to 10.00pm.

Archaic right enough 😏

I don't think the hours should be regulated at all, if there's demand and places can get the staff then they should be allowed to open.

I agree 👍

I was just reminiscing on how things have changed.

The Sunday laws are because of the church though.

Yeah when you said it I remembered folk talking about it, didn’t realise it had changed its name.
Where’s there a will there’s a way. Hope it’s heaving 😆

I know, I was outside with crisps n coke 😜.
I was kind of talking about Sundays, no real reason in this day and age, you can drink in casinos after clubs so it’s 24 hour drinking if you want it now. I did like the reduced hours during covid though 😆

Exactly the reason they should be turned into pubs and open earlier on Sundays 😜

yep it reminded me of the bar in the first star wars movie, i was in at 9am on a Saturday morning first time a few years ago waiting to pick up tickets form the place next door which didn't open until 10am for a show and most were pissed or drugged up including the bar staff probably had a lock in lol.

The Mill and Jessie Mays would be my guess 😆

The Mill hasn't opened early since Sean Clare was in buying everyone Jagerbombs.

Shandon and Locarno are both open from 9am on Sunday.
