Marinello might open somewhere early but it’s 11 for law abiding establishments πŸ˜†.Β

I have bad memories of that placeΒ

Need to go back as an adult and **** with it.

Β

I took my little brother (first away day without my dad) to the Derby when Stevo scored the screamer.

And we got pelted with bottles after going over the bridge.

Β

Haven't been back to ER since

In Scotland, each council has its own bylaws concerning public alcohol consumption.Β The City of Edinburgh allows the consumption of alcohol in public places but under the Edinburgh by-law, anyone drinking in public would have to stop if asked by police.

The last few times I’ve been they’ve not allowed folk to hang around the park just before the Bridge of Doom where folk used to congregate and have a wee party. Even less likely on a Sunday morning I think.Β

I presume all the shift worker pubs in Edinburgh still have early openings? Or did the SNP alcohol laws put an end to that? I guess not if Stratties is still open early....

Pubs have never opened early on a Sunday in the hundred odd years since licensing laws were introduced, the councils make the laws anyway so not sure what laws you’re on about? Pubs can open at 11am on Sundays now, no earlier.Β

Whatever happened to the Buffs Club near the Guildford?

It's a youth hostel. There was always a youth hostel above it so I guess they bought them out. I used to pop into the Buffs regularly when I worked next door.

The Weatherspoons in the Omni are pretty iffy about colours being shown, at least they were last couple of times we went. Ended up in the Theatre Royal (won't be any good for Sunday).

They can sell it at that time the rest of the week, just not Sundays. Can’t be long before these archaic laws are changed surely 🀞?

Think my days of drinking at the crack of dawn on Derby Day are coming to an end. I just can't be f*cked anymore with it now, not with a 12pm Sunday KO anyway. Couple of cans in the house then off to the game for me.

PENNY BLACK used to open at 5am when I worked in casinos. Not sure it's even there anymore?

Β

Brunswick and Lions head were 2 that used to open up at 5am. When the Berkley casino shut a 4 we used to head down. Frequently seen Wayne Foster in the Brunswick in his postie uniform.Β
