Is there anything in politics more shit than the Labour Party?

Net zero until our infrastructure allows us to

comfortably accommodate more people.  We do not have the houses, schools, hospitals, dentists to accommodate more people. As before we have plenty of economically inactive people who could solve the labour shortage with the correct motivation.

I’ve outlined some suggestions on this thread which would solve this problem in the U.K. in a matter of weeks.  All of which are practical and possible.

Agree fully.

Maw and Paw Trotter live in Penicuik, where they are just finishing building the last of several hundred, if not a thousand or more. However, nothing has been done to address the issues that will come with it. All the primary and secondary schools are at capacity, there is no availability at either of the doctor surgeries, the waiting list at the dentist is a mile long (although I grant you that one is pretty much universal), the main road into and out of town was already a nightmare and has only got worse, the fire station is part time and only has one engine, it just goes on and on.

Is it not often stated that whilst they do, they bring several times that back to UK plc in others ways? Or is that just made up bollocks?

Couldn't tell you, I'm disagreeing with the ridiculous assertion that the UK's a socialist state from someone who hasn't got the first clue what socialism is.

To be fair, it looks like the books of previous socialist countries 😂

It's you, you haven't a clue what socialism is!

socialism

/sō′shə-lĭz″əm/

noun

Any of various theories or systems of social organization in which the means of producing and distributing goods is owned collectively or by a centralized government that often plans and controls the economy.

The stage in Marxist-Leninist theory intermediate between capitalism and communism, in which the means of production are collectively owned but a completely classless society has not yet been achieved.

A theory or system of social reform which contemplates a complete reconstruction of society, with a more just and equitable distribution of property and labor. In popular usage, the term is often employed to indicate any lawless, revolutionary social scheme. See communism, Fourierism, saint-simonianism, forms of socialism.

Thanks for googling it.  And we tick many of those boxes

Do they? Or would we still get those tourists if they were hounded out? The Palace of Versailles doesn't need royalty to get 10m visitors a year.

Do the crown estates need the royal family to function?

So yeah, made up bollocks.

I don't that's the problem. The royal family are. Get rid of them and we could save billions a year. The half a billion is just what we're allowed to know about. Their security costs are a secret. That money could be put back into employing people to process the refugees.

Ah. The gif - you know you’ve won when someone replies with a moronic gif. You can’t challenge a single statement I made in that post.

Key features of socialism include:

- **Public Ownership**: The state or community owns key industries and resources, such as transportation, healthcare , and education , to ensure that everyone has access to essential services.

- **Economic Planning**: The government often plays a significant role in planning and regulating the economy to achieve specific social and economic goals.

- **Wealth Redistribution**: Policies aim to reduce income inequality through progressive(UNFAIR) taxation , social welfare programs , and other measures to support the less fortunate(LAZY WORKSHY).

Socialist state.  End of

I think I sometimes drift towards the Billy Connolly view of politicians including the comment "don't vote it only encourages them"

I have watched a lot of Connolly and he has himself confessed that during the act he would sometimes find himself going off on unplanned tangents which take him away from his intended story/punch line, then he has to find a way to work it back. I think this short clip looks like him in one of these tangents trying to find a way back.

embarrassing yourself.  Again you’ve simply got no idea what your are talking about.  There is no direct relationship between high taxes and capitalism. Taxes are driven by policy not ideology. We are taxed highly in the U.K. to pay for public services.

Which 'immigration' do you mean?

Do you mean the migrants that have successfully applied to be in the UK and meet the entrance criteria (the 97%) or do you mean the 'illegal' migrants that have no means of applying for asylum in the UK? (the 3%)

I think its a much bigger question than people realise. Its a question of a workforce deficit (and a rapidly shrinking workforce) and then of course there's the fiscal necessity of having more tax payers to fund Government policy.

I think you need to determine which immigration it is that you have the problem with and then focus on that and accept the impact that will have on an already shrinking economy, mainly thanks to the last big policy Herr Farage sold to the masses.

Again i've not seen a single manifesto or policy pledge from Reform Ltd that either acknowledges either of these issues, let alone offers solutions.

If this is true we are leaking money out . This should be invested back into the UK.

According to available data, immigrants in the UK send an estimated £20 billion per year back to their home countries in the form of remittances, with the exact figure fluctuating based on economic conditions and migration patterns; however, this number is not readily available as a single, definitive statistic due to the complexity of tracking international money transfers.

Key points to consider:

Remittances:

This term refers to the money sent by migrants to their families in their home countries.

Top recipient countries:

India, Pakistan, Philippines, and Nigeria are often listed as the top recipients of remittances from the UK.

What are you getting at here?

That migrants who have applied to be here legally and are 'contributing' to the UK by working and paying their taxes (on top of the other levvies they pay just to be here) shouldn't be allowed to send their disposable income anywhere they chose?

I must have that wrong?

There are actual real, living, human beings that are saying the UK is a socialist state???? Total madness as the labour party lurch further and further to the right, trying to catch up with the tories, while they try and catch up with reform.

Otherwise, how many such accents saying these things are heard on the BBC or other main media/ news platforms? Mick Lynch was a breath of fresh air but he's disappeared these days. Compare that to the amount of appearances Farage has had on BBCQT despite being unelected for most of that time?

Come on, I live in the North of England, I don't rely on the ****ing BBC never mind Sky or any other news outlets to sway what I hear when mixing with other "working class" people, you shouldn't either.

And that's the nub of it Jack.

What these politicians are doing to the place.

That's the same politicians that took us out of Europe, because it was the root of all our problems and if we only leave it will make the UK the best country in the universe. Farage was front and centre in that. How's that going?

That's the same politicians that took back control of our borders because that was the root of all our problems and if we could only do that it will make the UK the best country in the universe. Farage was front and centre in that too. How's that going?

That's the same politicians that want to take us out of the ECHR because it is the root of all our problems and if we could only leave that it will make the UK the best country in the universe. Farage is front and centre in that too. How's that going to go?

I'm going to stick my neck out here and suggest migrants aren't the problem?
